Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for a Demonstrator Operator Supervisor who can be based at any Peterson location.
SUMMARY
The Demonstrator Operator Supervisor is responsible for assisting and supporting the Earthmoving Sales department by overseeing a team of Demonstrator Operators while also performing regular Demonstrator Operator duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervisor Job Functions:
Hire, develop, train, and directly supervise the Demonstrator Operator team.
Coordinate the Demonstrator Operators' weekly schedules, prioritizing revenue generating training over non-revenue generated training
Assign annual training programs to Demonstrator Operators.
Build short- and long-term certification goals and requirements for each Demonstrator Operator.
Build and adhere to the Demonstrator Operator group's annual budget.
Conduct annual on-site evaluation of the effectiveness of each Demonstrator Operator training's, on site at a scheduled customer training
Demonstrator Operator Job Functions:
Plan and conduct equipment demonstrations as required by the Sales Department.
Conduct machine delivery training for customers, including the completion of Delivery Service Reports.
Conduct formal, certified customer machine training courses that meet Caterpillar and Peterson Cat standards.
Communicate with salesmen, account managers, product support reps, and sales managers to assist with machine sales.
Perform site assessments as required by customers and Peterson Cat sales group.
Oversee and manage all customer related production studies.
Maintain knowledge of features and benefits of all Cat equipment sold and serviced by Peterson.
Maintain knowledge of applications for all Cat equipment sold and serviced by Peterson.
Communicate directly with customers and resolve machine performance issues.
Conduct internal training as necessary to support Peterson sales and rental departments.
Conduct professional machine demos and head-to-head demos versus the competition.
Develop an operation assessment when a machine or fleet is not meeting the expectations of the operator, supervisor, or owner.
Manage conflicts that may arise when a machine is not performing, and it cannot be determined if a problem is a mechanical issue or an operator issue.
Support salesmen and account managers by making sure that all the stakeholders in an organization know the advantages of owning and operating a Cat machine vs. the competitors.
Plan and develop curriculum and strategies for the purpose of certifying customer operators in the safe and productive operation of Cat equipment. This Cat certification training is meant to be revenue producing in nature and may take place at remote sites and require up to a week away from home.
Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
Must be able to travel within assigned territory, including overnight travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in training; preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Successful completion of Caterpillar machine operator training required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENCENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Caterpillar Certified Operator Certificate
Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
MSHA Certificate (or ability to obtain)
The pay range for this position is dependent on location and experience level. In the Bay Area, the pay range is $109,000 - $135,000. In Northern California, the pay range is $92,000 - $115,000. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
