Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating demand/supply management, business processes and/or manufacturing/delivery of products and services to the company policy and country regulatory requirements. Partners with stakeholders to identify/implement opportunities for business process improvement to effectively manage costs, integrate new and existing businesses, and adapt to changes in the business and regulatory environment. Time horizon is typically focused on less than six months for forecasting/planning. Leading and working with cross-functional teams, creates and implements plans that enable the execution of business strategies. Participates in the process by which demand signals are developed, validated for alignment with transition plans, supply constraints identified, and an executable plan defined that meets financial and market share goals. Scope includes business execution processes related to lifecycle planning; order management (including allocation management, Available to Promise (ATP) / commit processes, business attainment tracking); logistics management (including inbound/outbound coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments); and inventory management (including analysis, optimization and velocity). Partners cross-functionally to develop, track and manage business metrics for the organization (may include customer availability, service levels, on-time delivery, supplier response time (SRTs), supply chain costs and inventory.


  • Strategically drives a broad range of complex supply chain processes, which may include import/export operations, typically for large or complex global business unit.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, develops recommendations, and converts recommendations into compelling new business plans.

  • Independently executes complex demand and supply matching activities at the highest level, connecting

Education and Experience Required:

  • University degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.

  • Requires 3+ years of experience in a supply chain function.

  • Experience in more than one supply chain function

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of supply chain processes (plan, source, make deliver).

  • Identifies and creates superior analytical tools, models and methods for making key business decisions.

  • Advanced communication and influencing skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Advanced internal and external relationship management skills.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of how to analyze business problems using Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), statistical analysis, and financial modeling.

  • Superior project management skills, with capability to manage cross functional teams in multiple geographies that impact the organization.

  • Superior business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.

  • Extensive Understanding of the company's overall business strategy.

  • Advanced understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ATP, master scheduling and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

  • Advanced understanding of national and international trade requirements to align customs/trade function with business objectives.

  • Advanced knowledge of inventory modeling and analysis.

  • Excellent leadership skills including team-building and conflict resolution and management.

  • Advanced understanding in developing and managing a trade compliance program.

Based in our Houston, TX location, you will be a key driver of the development and delivery of Demand and Supply forecasting to support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process in Emerson's Actuation Technologies business. AS A GLOBAL DEMAND PLANNING MANAGER: This individual is responsible for performing critical analysis and preparing advanced reporting for business planning and management reviews. The person must have a strong analytical background and be capable of providing meaningful and actionable information utilizing several different types of data. Information needs to be accurate and detailed enough to facilitate effective decision-making. Information will balance product demand, component supply, and factory capacity; integrates financial and operational plans, and links high-level strategic plans with the operational plans and capabilities. The Global Demand Planning Manager will report directly to the Director S&OP. Ongoing focus will be to work with the Sales and operations teams to assist with the following actions: * Ownership of Strategic Business Units (SBU) based Demand deliverables in Actuation Technologies Global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. * Works with the Actuation Technologies Sales Organization, Projects Managers and Demand Managers throughout different world areas to identify and define short, medium and long-term product demand by market segment, geographical segmentation and kind of business. * Works with various functions to establish a secure and reliable process for gathering and analyzing this data, which meets the business need for not only speed, reliability and accuracy, but also, market, kind of business and geographical segmentation. * Prepares S&OP forecast to support the monthly management business reviews. * Creates, monitors, and maintains S&OP metrics and key performance indicators, identifying potential risks and opportunities. * Maintains a constant review of data gathering, processing systems and processes. * Continually develops and improves models, systems and processes to meet business needs and requirements. * Works with operations and supply chain management to ensure that information being gathered and processed is coherent with their needs and requirements. * Presents and provides demand forecasts as well as background and detail regarding demand forecasts in order to contribute as required to S&OP decision-making. * Develops and maintains appropriate models/history to interpret dollar forecasts into product unit forecasts and disseminate them to world area manufacturing facilities. * Develops and maintains a history / database of demand information and statistics that will facilitate a better understanding of this information and more sophisticated / accurate demand forecasting and planning. * Assists the SBU leaders in breaking down Bookings data and interpreting Sales trends. * Guide and mentor Demand analysts. WHO YOU ARE: You possess the ability to analyze a complex situation and establish a strategic change plan, then optimize a progression path. You can organize people and activities, understand how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow, and can simplify complex processes.
