As a Demand Planning Analyst for Dorman Products, you will be responsible for maintaining a product demand forecast for a portfolio of automotive parts for the North America aftermarket. You will partner with the Product Management and Sales teams to monitor sell-through and major account forecasts. You will collaborate with Supply Planning and Procurement teams to develop and maintain demand planning strategies and monthly category/SKU-level forecasts. You will be accountable for planning deliverables in accordance with the monthly planning calendar and in support of the corporate Sales & Operations Planning process.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare demand planning deliverables in accordance with the monthly planning calendar. Deliverables include sales versus forecast analysis, sales/market intelligence, product plans, and SKU/category forecast recommendations

  • Conduct a monthly 'deep dive' of high-value and high-variance SKUs.

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and Supply Management to prepare findings and recommendations for review at the monthly Integrated Planning Meetings.

  • Work with Product Teams to ensure new product launch plans (and initial volumes) are properly planned.

  • Closely monitor early-life sales and adjust forecasts promptly as required particularly for high-value and high-variance SKUs.

  • Monitor support plans for New Business Proposals (NBPs) and ensure demand plans properly account for NBP volumes and implementation schedules.

  • Partner with Supply Chain Management functions to develop and deploy end-to-end supply chain initiatives to optimize inventory pipeline investments and achieve customer serviceability requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related discipline required. An advanced degree is a plus.

  • 0-3 years' professional work experience or internships in a planning and analysis position.

  • Experience with ERP planning systems is preferred.

  • Experience with SAP Advance Planning & Optimization module is a plus.

  • Understanding of planning process fundamentals and concepts in manufacturing

  • Strong competencies in data analytics, business process analysis and improvement, problem solving.

  • Demonstrated success as a valuable contributor within a team.

  • Multi-tasking, ability to manage a variety of professional assignments simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in preparing effective business presentations and facilitating business meetings.

  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Microsoft Excel.

Physical Requirements

Capability to lift 50 pounds. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

You will work cross functionally to generate and lead initiatives that will improve fill rates, inventory goals, and serviceability and reduce the length of our supply chain. Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Duties * Determine appropriate order quantity and frequency, select appropriate vendor and place purchase orders for assigned product lines, ensuring fill rates and targeted inventory levels are achieved. * Fulfill supply chain responsibilities as an active member of a cross-functional team. Manage continuity of supply and inventory investments in accordance with mission critical business objectives (e.g. Fill Rates, Inventory). * Execute material planning, buying, expediting, and optimization initiatives in support of assigned product lines. * Report root cause analysis weekly on Supply Chain issues resulting in poor Fill Rate performance. * Execute and support initiatives that impact cross functional team goals such as profitability, sales growth, E&O reduction and inventory optimization. * Support Supplier Relationship Management strategies that are developed and deployed by Procurement * Identify and resolve daily issues that may affect team or individual goals and objectives. * Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. * Interact with Operations to ensure serviceability of the customer.
