Demand Planner
Position Overview:
The Demand Planner for Americas is responsible for leading all aspects of product forecasting for assigned product families in a highly seasonal business environment. The Demand Planner for Americas reports directly to the Director of Demand Planning for Americas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Maintain rolling 18-month demand plan across all Americas product/warehouse locations for assigned product families
Evaluate sales order history to identify outliers that are promotional or non-repeating
Incorporate changes from historical performance into future outlook, including distribution changes, new product rollouts and adjusting "Year 2" outlook for new product launch anniversary, and end of life
Create and maintain statistically derived demand plan
Collaborate with Sales and Finance via routine Demand Agreement Process to yield a consensus demand plan
Summarize and routinely update key stakeholders regarding overall outlook, changes in demand trends, differences between statistical and sales/finance forecast that lead to consensus demand plan, and risks and opportunities
Provide transparency and accountability to the demand planning process through regular reviews of historical performance and publication of key performance indicators (accuracy, bias, etc.)
Utilize POS assumptions, POS trends, and key customer inventory position and goals to validate current and future demand trends
Develop historically grounded expectations for high and low guard rails against demand plan to serve as indicators for change to future outlook
Analyze sales forecast against actual sales to identify and address variability that will influence future inventory and fill rate performance
Monitor customer order fill rate performance and mitigate key drivers stemming from demand plan variability that impact performance
Collaborate with supporting functions to ensure plans are reliable: Sales, Finance, Product Management, & Supply Chain
Participate in new product planning process to ensure material planning needs are incorporated and executed in the appropriate time frame to support business planning
Includes Demand Planning role in new item setup in SAP
Identify, recommend and implement efficiency improvements within our demand planning process
Achieve metrics & objectives utilizing a data-driven balanced scorecard with routine results monitoring and two-way feedback
Provide support to Australia/New Zealand Demand Planning by establishing statistical forecasts for collaborative review with Au/NZ-based Demand Planner, sharing key insights, and measuring & monitoring forecasting metrics (KPI's)

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business, Mathematics or Statistics required
At least 3 years of supply chain experience desired
Demonstrated success at problem solving
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask required
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Experience with SAP a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
APICS CPIM certification a plus
