Position Description

The Demand Forecasting & Stats COOP Senior Manager position provides statistical, financial, and analytical support to COOP, Ryder's truck sharing program. The position provides analytically based recommendations to management and helps support pricing, customer targeting, and operational efficiency by leading data modeling, data analysis, process improvement and forecasting projects.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Math or equivalent

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in related field

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in the use of SAS, SPSS, Minitab or NCSS preferred

  • Demonstrates analytical skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrates problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to:

  • Apply Time Series, Multivariate/Multiple Regressive or Econometric methodologies and techniques in data analysis and forecasting (advanced level) preferred

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Derive innovative solutions

  • Interact with and influence senior management

  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of MS Office (advanced level)

  • Proficiency in programming and/or relational database design/query, SQL (advanced level)

  • Knowledge of statistical methodology, experimental design and strong interest in computer application for data management (advanced level)preferred

  • Knowledge of operational research techniques such as simulation, critical path analysis or mathematical modeling (advanced level) preferred

  • Knowledge of Ryder System Inc. operational procedures and data (advanced level) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing statistical models for computing the impact of pricing changes on transaction counts and on revenue. Design and maintain dynamic pricing model

  • Assist in developing forecasting models to predict Revenue, Operating and Fixed costs to assist in planning new business and developing the COOP Business Plan

  • Consolidate, prepare, and analyze financial data to understand cause-and-effect relationships and identify root causes

  • Data mining, predictive-modeling, and innovative use of statistical and quantitative knowledge

  • Develop, implement, and maintain consistent processes for data quality control

  • Write SQL Server jobs, stored procedures, and SQL scripts to create, maintain, and analyze SQL Server data

  • Analyze database contents

  • Assist in presenting analysis results, operational data, and forecasts in written and verbal formats to senior leadership

  • Exercise considerable latitude in the use of appropriate statistical methods in areas that can benefit from statistical analysis

  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position is knowledgeable in building systems and construction methods specifically in a health care environment. Have the ability to manage multiple, large projects at one time with some supervision. Develop/engage project teams using a competitive RFP process. Assist in guiding project through local, State and Federal building restrictions and code compliance. Accurate budgeting, scheduling, logistics, ICRA, ILSM from conception through completion. Follow the CAR/PAC process for pre-validation, validation and request for full funding. Take a leadership role in finding new methods/approaches to help execute work faster and more efficiently. Challenge assumptions and bring new ideas to the table that could benefit the entire department in executing our role. Maintain a vendor ranking and ensure we reinforce success by re-engaging firms that perform excellent work and value the relationships in the system. Collecting historical cost and schedule data to utilize in predicting future cost and time to execute projects (send to corporate at projection completion). Ensure all parties on the project have executed a contract and have provided all the required insurances prior to commencing work. Ensure the highest ethical standards when dealing with our vendors. Ensure vendors compliant with the terms of the agreement and that the business terms agreed are fair to both the vendor. Use business term guidelines. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
