BASIC FUNCTION

Primary Responsibility: The Driver is responsible for pickup and delivery of office equipment. Responsible for loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory, transporting orders of equipment, materials and supplies. Responsible for ensuring safe operation of vehicles required for delivery operations and assisting in warehouse activities to meet required workload demands.

WORK PERFORMED

Delivers machines to customers. May set up machine accessories and conduct initial, basic user training. Does required delivery paperwork.

Loads order for the purpose of preparing orders for transport. Assists in setup.

Unloads deliveries for the purpose of distributing shipment at assigned site locations and/or to appropriate individuals.

Sorts packages and other materials and supplies for the purpose of distributing items to assigned sites and/or individuals.

Responds to inquiries of sales, customers and administration for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries.

Maintains vehicles and warehouse equipment (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, fueling, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Maintains vehicle log. Participates in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of one to two years as a driver/delivery person. At least ten (10) years as licensed driver. Skilled in driving 15-20 foot trucks with lift gate. Knowledge of Atlanta area.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, occasionally in urgent situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work in areas which require attention to detail in a varied environment.

• The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting up to 75 lbs., carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing

• Significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.

• The job is performed with some temperature extremes and exposure to fumes.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Employee must complete required courses as described by Human Resources for all employees.

• This description presents the major responsibilities required for this job title. Individual positions may require the performance of additional duties as assigned.

• Requires a valid state driver's license and minimum level of auto insurance coverage per company policy for position entails extensive use of personal car while on company business.

• Must pass DOT physical annually.
