The Flow Manager will be responsible for: * Working within an Ambulatory Practice setting to provide weekday supervisory support in conjunction with the Nursing Director and Practice Manager. * Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment. Operations: * The Ambulatory Flow manager will assume responsibility for operations during the weekday in conjunction with the Nursing Director and Practice Manager. The Ambulatory Flow manager will monitor the quality and flow of patient care delivered in the departments and will be expected to be able to respond to issues in real time addressing those events that require management intervention or clinical consultation. He/She will support a collaborative and efficient environment that is patient-focused and supports high quality nursing practice. Fiscal Management: * The Ambulatory Flow Manager works to ensure that staffing requirements are met by scheduling clinical team members according to established unit and budget guidelines. He/She works to ensure workflows are supported to minimize staff overtime. He/She will utilize resources appropriately and will be cognizant of budgetary constraints. During unexpected staffing shortages as well as during surges in volume and acuity, the Ambulatory Flow Manager is expected to assist with patient care. Human Resource Management: * The Flow Manager will participate in the interview process of clinical staff (LPN and Medical Assistant). He/She will contribute to the educational and professional development of the clinical staff by meeting with them and developing unit based trainings. He/She will assist the ND with the disciplinary process as well as the recognition of exceptional clinical staff performance. The Ambulatory Flow manager will be responsible for clinical staff annual performance evaluations. Development: Staff * The Ambulatory Flow manager will be expected to develop training and education initiatives per the ND and Practice Manager. The Ambulatory Flow manager will assist with the orientation of new clinical staff. He/She will continually assess the educational needs of the clinical teams and give feedback to Westwood Leadership. The Ambulatoyr Flow manager will participate in signing all clinical staff on annual competency as needed. Patient and Family Education: * The Ambulatory Flow manager will ensure that staff are providing relevant and accurate patient education and that staff know what resources are available. He/She will also be the primary person to manage any real-time patient complaints, inquiries, and feedback. Quality Improvement: * The Ambulatory Flow manager will actively participate in our quality improvement initiatives. Monthly, He/She will conduct monthly Joint Commission audits as well as medical record documentation audits for the clinical staff. He/She must promote an environment that supports continuous improvement. To qualify you must have: * Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years experience in an ambulatory practice. This experience must be current (within the past 5 years). * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required * Masters Degree in Nursing preferred. * BLS certification required.
