Delivery Driver Merchandiser Trainee

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, early morning start until route completion. Weekends and some holidays required.

  • Location: Knoxville, TN

Things you should know about working as a Delivery Driver Merchandiser Trainee:

As a Delivery Driver/Merchandiser Trainee, you will be responsible for delivering and/or unloading our products to customer locations on designated routes. This is a fast-paced position that stocks the greatest beverage brands on shelves, displays and in coolers.

What would success look like?

  • Candidate must be able to obtain; a valid medical examiners certificate (medical card) with Interstate non-excepted classification and a Class A license for the State hired Interstate non-excepted does not allow for State approved medical waivers

  • Ability to obtain Interstate CDL permit and the ability to pass and maintain D.O.T. physical requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lifting to 50 lbs. of product repetitively

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis

  • Past job performance must reflect dependability, initiative, professional demeanor, and the ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Availability to work some weekends and/or some holidays

  • Valid driver's license for your state of residency (Motor Vehicle Report will be reviewed)

Qualifications:

  • Exercise safe practices and work environment

  • Deliver, fill, merchandise, and rotate products at customer accounts

  • Ensure the "look of success" appearance of all Coke equipment and products

  • Foster relationships with store management and personnel and provide superior customer service

  • Ensure proper inventory of product, handling of cash and assets daily

All Company Commercial Drivers will be interstate non-excepted commercial drivers who meet all federal requirements (we do not employ intrastate-only drivers).

Preferred:

  • Previous route delivery, direct store delivery, stocking, merchandising products or retail management experience is strongly preferred

  • Interstate Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or permit

All candidates will be subject to pre-employment testing: Background Check, Drug Screen, and Physical Abilities Test (if applicable).

VIEW JOBS 9/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-13T00:00 Job Description Position Summary: Reinhart Foodservice will hire and train individuals who hold a valid Class A license with 0+ years of experience and enter them into our Associate Driver training program. Driver Associates will perform driver duties that will allow them to gain the necessary experience to qualify for a Professional Driver position with Reinhart Foodservice after successfully completing the program. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Deliver the right products to customer accounts, in a professional, safe and timely manner, using a multitude of methods including manual lifting, use of two wheel dolly, ramps, and/or carts in multi-temperature environments. * Safe and professional operation of a commercial motor vehicle, including but not limited to: Combination vehicles, straight trucks, or other vehicles such as pick-up trucks and service vans with a GVWR or GCWR over 10,001 lbs. * Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment. * Ability to operate vehicles in congested areas with limited space and potential obstacles. * Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation regulations including but not limited: Controlled Substances, Commercial Driver Licensing, Driver Qualification, CMV Operation, Hours of Service; CSA inspections and compliance, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, etc. * Maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with Department of Transportation Regulations. * Utilize an on board computer to track hours of service. * Provide exceptional customer service. * Safely and accurately unload and deliver multi-temperature product to customers utilizing a variety of preferred methods including lift gates, carts, conveyers, hand trucks, and/or pallet jacks. * Utilize barcode scanners at the point of delivery as required to verify delivered product. * Pick up returned product as required. * Accurately complete delivery and pick up paperwork. * Maintain contact with Dispatch to receive delivery or pick up instructions or changes in scheduled deliveries or pick-ups. * Maintain route plan as provided by Dispatch. Communicate to Dispatch any barriers to maintaining the route plan so any changes can be communicated to the customer. * Maintain knowledge and comprehension of all applicable Department of Transportation regulations and Company policies through Company training and certifications. * Observe all local, state and federal laws and ordinances. * Perform all other projects and duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications * 6-12 months of commercial driving experience * Foodservice distribution industry experience Required Qualifications * Drivers must have a valid Class A CDL for interstate commerce with less than one year of current Class A CDL or equivalent military driving experience within the last year. * We are an interstate carrier, by law you must be at least 21 years of age. * Candidates must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record. * Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. * Drivers must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and lift and/or move up to 85 pounds occasionally. * Position must pass a post offer letter drug test, DOT physical, background check and physical abilities test.
