Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate Job Description

Insulation Distributors, Inc. is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate to join the IDI team. As a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible to make deliveries and work in the warehouse when necessary, loading/unloading manually or with a forklift. Our warehouse opens at 7 a.m., with deliveries going out as early as 4:30/5 a.m.

  • Deliver complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to IDI customers

  • Enter and complete orders using a computer

  • Operate a 30 foot straight box truck

  • Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner

  • Provide exceptional customer service in all facets of interaction

  • Comply with all safety and DOT regulations, procedures and training

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with warehouse and counter duties

Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate Job Qualifications

As a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate for Insulation Distributors, you must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team and possess a professional, customer-focused attitude. You must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record as well as current commercial driver's license (class B) and DOT medical card. Proficiency with order entry and use of inventory systems is preferred.

Additional Job Qualifications

  • Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures

  • Ability to identify product numbers and alpha/numeric codes

  • Working knowledge of DOT safety regulations

  • Ability to read a map and accurately plan a route

  • Proficient listening, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lift/carry/maneuver heavy product and equipment

  • Ability to operate a forklift in compliance with OSHA requirements

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check

  • Ability to work a Monday - Friday schedule per delivery demands

  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred

Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years verifiable driving experience
  • 1+ year(s) experience in distribution warehouse setting preferred

Job Summary The Warehouse Supervisor provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff. Warehouse/receiving personnel accept and process the receipt of assets. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must possess the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and be responsible for the successful completion of the work. * Provide overall supervision for the Contractor employees to include, but not limited to, planning and managing the contract professionally, coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads, ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources. * Ensure that accurate and timely reports are provided. * Effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered. * Execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost. * Coordinate and work with other managers to insure functions between departments operate efficiently and smoothly. * Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. * Research, analyze and implement methods of increasing productivity, including efficient space utilization and mechanical devices. * Manage and meet contractual and Company performance requirements. Provide timely and accurate records and reports as required. * Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures. * Maintain a safe and secure work environment. * Ability to manage and execute daily and short-to-long range projects for active unit moves. * Other duties assigned in association with locally established traffic and distribution management plan, ACI Management requirements, and workload requirements. SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS * Possess a valid Driver's License * Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language * Skilled in planning, controlling, managing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements * Ensure work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources * Computer literate with proven experience using a warehouse management system (WMS).
