Delivery Driver And Warehouse Assistant - Full Time

Located in Gates, our client is an expert in commercial carpet and hard-surface flooring.  Award winning, nationally recognized and growing, we are actively seeking an experienced professional, driven and self-directed Warehouse Assistant to join this special team.90 day contract to hire, full benefits and other ancillary perks upon perm hirePay: Depending on experience, $17-20/hr to startHours: Monday-Friday 8a-4pmAs the Warehouse Assistant, you will be the backbone to the business. Nearly all of the job materials flow through the warehouse on the way to the customer, making it a vital part of the day-to-day business operations.Position Summary:Warehouse Assistant (40%) 

• Maintaining the warehouse space, receiving, distribution.  Works very closely with Warehouse Manager
• Ensure back stock 
• Pull materials for job orders 
• Use a computer system to manage inventory 

Driving (30%):

• The Driver is responsible for transporting and safely unloading/loading job materials.  You will plan the safest, efficient route and always adhere to the laws of the roadway.   You must be willing to work in a collaborative logistical team to ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly and be able to transport safely.  Must be polite and prompt with clients and teams who expect an exemplary level of service.  
• All travel is in a company provided cargo van and will be same day trips to Syracuse and Buffalo 

Equipment and Safety (10%):

• Manage the vehicle, safety, maintenance, documentation of inspections, registrations, licensing and maintenance. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience

• High school diploma/GED at a minimum
• One years of warehouse and/or logistics experience
• Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective problem solving skills

• Must be able to operate a pallet jack
• Must have a valid driver's license 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Occasional exposure to construction site conditions (may require use of safety equipment)
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse
