To prepare, rotate, stock, and provide quality deli products that meet the customers needs, build displays as required, help in other areas of store as needed, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.
Frequent: Physical lifting up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom), reaching, standing, turning;
Mental judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math
Occasional: Physical lifting over 50 lbs., equipment operation (adding machine),
calculator, squatting, stooping/bending, walking
Prepares and provides deli product
Follows safe food handling and preparation processes
Properly shaves and slices meats and cheeses
Ensures freshness and quality of all product
Ensures proper assembly and recipes for salads, sandwiches, pizza, party trays and chicken, etc.
Follows tare weight procedures
Shrink wraps when appropriate
Accurately labels and prices all wrapped product
Primary emphasis in this position is on meeting daily needs in receiving, stocking, sorting, food preparation, accurate pricing, and display building in order to ensure maximum department sales, product availability and providing a high level of customer service.
The primary challenge is product location and acquiring necessary production speed in preparation, sorting, stocking, and cashiering. This position requires ongoing walking, moderate to heavy lifting, some positions include operation of pallet jack, use of box cutter, and cash register. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.
Assignments and work direction are provided by the Department Manager or person in charge. As a retail operation schedules include Sunday Saturday work availability, including days and evenings.
