THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

As a member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team you will play a key role in the development and execution of robust programs and process improvements for Ulta Beauty corporate, distribution centers (DCs), retail and salon. Programs include but are not limited to Inclusion in Action Enterprise-wide DEI training, supplemental enterprise learning content, People Success (HR) Business Partner support, and store team DEI activations. This role offers significant leadership opportunities to support the planning, development, implementation, and integration of strategic DEI efforts and will have a Program Specialist reporting into them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage project management skills and proactive attitude to get buy-in from stakeholders while advancing projects and initiatives. Contribute to decision-making and development of strategies.

  • Support the development and delivery of DEI training programs for associates at all levels across the organization.

  • Facilitate difficult conversations, workshops, and discussions related to DEI.

  • Effectively organize and project-manage the delivery of processes and programs, while continuously improving execution and measuring success.

  • Remain updated on relevant laws and regulations related to DEI and incorporate into planning and execution.

  • Engage and educate associates by championing the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and contribute to the development of policies and programs designed to attract, retain, and develop a diverse workforce and further foster a sense of belonging for all.

  • Develop and socialize DEI learning resources and toolkits.

  • Engage in regular, consistent communication with business partners, stakeholders and team members to drive successful culture transformation, change management and DEI solutions.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on DEI topics, provide guidance and support to associates and leaders across the organization.

  • Communicate DEI goals, progress, and initiatives to associates and other stakeholders in a transparent and effective manner.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS

  • Proficient in group facilitation methodologies for delivering sessions on sensitive DEI topics across all levels of an organization.

  • An operational track record in delivering DEI related projects and programs, with a minimum 3+ years of diversity and inclusion experience in a corporate environment.

  • Project and program management experience - ability to plan, identify, coordinate, and track critical activities, milestones and deliverables with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise high judgment and creativity in narrow timeframes and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get work done, even when at times it's outside the scope of the job.

  • Highly flexible, collaborative, and able to influence and lead through transformative change.

  • High degree of cultural humility and justice-minded approach for the needs of underrepresented associates, historically excluded groups, and allies.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive partnerships with stakeholders, vendors, and People Success (HR) colleagues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively partner with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.

  • 2-3 years of learning and development experience is preferred.

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

  • Global DEI experience is a plus.

  • Relevant DEI certifications are a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Must be able to travel overnight, up to 25%
