We're looking for someone to join our team as a Nutritionist who:

The Degreed Nutritionist is a member of the nutrition education team. The Nutritionist assesses moderate to high-risk clients, develops their individualized nutrition care plans, provides nutrition counseling and may assist the Dietitian Supervisor or Nutritionist Supervisor with managing a site. The Nutritionist works under the leadership of the Dietitian Supervisor or Nutritionist Supervisor. The Nutritionist will need to apply to the internship within the first three years of employment.

Essential Functions:

1.Provide quality customer service to clients and team members with an attitude of helpfulness, dignity and respect.


    1. Provide counseling to WIC participants at moderate to high-risk level and document in WIC Wise (the WIC Integrated Statewide Database Information System).


    1. Develop and record an individualized nutrition care plan according to established protocol.


    1. Submit the required documentation and billing documents for reimbursement (for CPSP encounters) in EHR Electronic Health Record


    1. Conduct nutrition health education classes to participants, staff and the community as needed.


    1. Participate in community outreach and promotional activities.


    1. Assist the Dietitian Supervisor or Nutritionist Supervisor in managing the services of the site including auditing of staff files to assess WIC policy competency, 8. conducting CPSP risk charting and staff training and mentoring.


    1. Willingness to work at multiple sites as needed and help by phone.


    1. Provide education and support of breastfeeding and promote a breastfeeding friendly environment.


    1. Comply with established Clinica Sierra Vista and WIC policies.


    1. Maintain confidentiality and security at all times.


    1. Support the mission of Clinica Sierra Vista and the WIC program.


    1. Assist in certifying staff to WNA status, once WNA certification is obtained.


    1. Other duties as required.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

1.Bachelor's or master's degree in Nutrition with a GPA of 3.0 or above. DPD Verification Statement required.


    1. Leadership/volunteer experience and involvement in extracurricular activities related to nutrition and dietetics.


    1. Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft office and Word processing applications.


    1. Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance.


    1. Member of American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.


    1. Detail oriented.


    1. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.


    1. Strong work ethic.


    1. Ability to handle multiple tasks well.


    1. Effective organizational skills.


    1. Ability to work well independently and with others.


    1. Ability to follow directions, learn new skills and meet deadlines.


    1. Ability to work in changing environment.


    1. Culturally-competent.


    1. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) desirable.


    1. Experience or desire to work with low-income and vulnerable families/individuals.
