Machine Learning (ML) has been strategic to Amazon from the early years. We are pioneers in areas such as recommendation engines, product search, eCommerce fraud detection, and large-scale optimization of fulfillment center operations.

The ML team within AWS provides opportunities to innovate in a fast-paced organization that contributes to game-changing projects and technologies that get deployed on devices and the cloud. As a Deep Learning Architect, you'll partner with technology and business teams to build new services that surprise and delight our customers. You will be working with terabytes of text, images, and other types of data to solve real-world problems.

We're looking for top architects, system and software engineers capable of using ML and other techniques to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Use ML tools, such as Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Simple Storage Servcie, to provide a scalable cloud environment for our customers to label data, build, train, tune and deploy their models

  • Collaborate with our data scientists to create scalable ML solutions for business problems

  • Interact with customer directly to understand the business problem, help and aid them in implementation of their ML ecosystem

  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of historical data to help automate and optimize key processes

  • Work closely with account team, research scientist teams and product engineering teams to drive model implementations and new algorithms

This position requires travel of up to 30%.

The Sr. Learning Architect, EL is an experienced editor of instructional content who is well versed in EL curriculum and pedagogy and is dedicated to the creation of high-quality and engaging products that will accelerate language development for EL students. The Sr. Learning Architect, EL Instruction, manages all content development efforts, works collaboratively within and across teams and calmly and diligently juggles multiple results-oriented initiatives under tight turnarounds. The SLA may be responsible for major components or features within a program and also may provide guidance, coaching, and training to more junior team members. Primary Responsibilities * Manage the instructional design, product development (prototype design), and production of ELL (English Language Learning) technology and print program components from concept to fulfillment. * Use expertise in K-12 EL instruction, Universal Design for Learning Principles, and Multi-Tiered Systems of support to help develop program prototypes, manuscript, and technology content that adhere to research, best practices, and all program pedagogy. * Manage the content creation efforts for Supplemental and Intervention Solutions (SIS) EL programs such as student and teacher content and assessments with in-house and out-of-house writers, designers, advisors and developers, ensuring that content aligns with the program mission. Review work with Learning Architects, program authors, and advisors on an as needed basis and incorporate feedback. * Works with cross-functional PDM teams to design products that meet specified learning and user experience (UX) requirements, including writing appropriate prototype content, providing input into design decisions, and reviewing design outputs. * Coordinates and reviews the work of editors and freelance writers; writes or revises portions of manuscripts, scripts, and storyboards; edits manuscript for several major components of a project according to project guidelines and divisional standards of quality and accuracy. Provides training and guidance to more junior team members. * Works effectively with other employees across the division; keeps Lead LA well informed of project progress and issues, referring appropriate decisions to management. REQUIIRED * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education or relevant discipline * 3+ EL teaching experience (i.e. deep knowledge of EL curriculum, pedagogy and best practices) * 3+ years of educational publishing experience; experience developing EL learning solutions for the K-12 market * Deep knowledge of curriculum standards and criteria for evaluating instructional materials from various states, large school districts, and national organizations * Strong conceptual skills, a critical eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex concepts into visual representations * Self-motivation, ability to work with and communicate effectively with a variety of technical and creative individuals * Passionate about creating engaging and effective (fun!) learning products * Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail * Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills * Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills PREFERRED * Practical experience designing and/or deploying 21st-century learning solutions, including blogs, wikis, online forums, chat rooms, and online communities of practice * Practical experience contributing to the design of digital interactive games * Experience writing scripts for engaging time-based media such as animated cartoons, television documentaries, narrative-driven digital interactive games, etc. * Strong computer skills, including MS Office products and company technology tools Physical Requirements * Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing). * The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. * Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. * Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
