Transportation- Intern

Mon- Fri 8 am- 5 pm


College Student in Supply Chain or Business

Full Time for the Summer

As part of the Ryder team the Dedicated Transportation Solutions (DTS) Intern will be working in a very dynamic environment across multiple functional groups within the organization. Interns will be shadowing finance, operations and sales.



  • Must have completed at least one (1) semester of college or university curriculum and be currently enrolled toward a degree in business or logistics


  • Will receive training and work with staff on KPI metrics for local DTS locations

Internships positions can be office or field assignments based on project needs and type of internship (design vs. construction). Job Responsibilities * Produces well-organized, finished design documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness from layouts, sketches or written instructions. Applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs and specifications under the supervision of and subject to final approval by the Licensed Professional. * Creates work plan for assigned tasks. Monitors and projects personal workload status, advising supervisor of difficulties in accomplishing schedules. * Coordinates and checks work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors and omissions. * Maintains orderly work files and prepares clear, well-written memos/correspondence. When assigned, prepares presentation materials. * Assists Licensed Professional in field inspections, development of solutions to field problems, preparation of field orders, addenda and record drawings. Design/A&E Specific * Performs analysis or calculations as assigned. * Assists Licensed Professional with plotting/production/assembly of drawing packages and writing specifications. Construction Specific * Works closely with Project Managers to perform and coordinate documents for assigned projects. Education/Experience Pursuing a professional degree in related discipline from an accredited college or university. No previous experience is required, but is preferred. Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Ability to work in multi-discipline environments * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * As applicable, student membership to discipline-specific organization(s). * Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust.
