Dedicated Fleet Specialist I
The dedicated fleet specialist is responsible for routing, scheduling, dispatching, and resolving transportation related problems for our carrier partner drivers, plant teams and customers. This position requires you to have exceptional proactive communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with internal & external customers and stakeholders. Examples of responsibilities include route planning using routing optimization technology, exceptions management, ensuring timely pickup and delivery, tracking carrier performance and holding our carrier partners accountable to service expectations. It's important that the team member demonstrates a professional workplace attitude in this fast paced environment.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities:
Responsible for professional, timely, and effective internal and external carrier/driver interaction via phone calls and system messages.
Cultivate and maintain a positive attitude to strengthen driver engagement in order to minimize turnover and improve driver satisfaction and productivity.
Reduce driver detention time and manage equipment through effective communication and planning in order to improve operational efficiency.
Measure, track and report dedicated fleet performance.
Hold carrier partners accountable for meeting performance expectations.
Ability to efficiently assign loads to drivers in order to maximize utilization, customer satisfaction and driver retention for assigned market areas.
Oversee route planning utilizing routing optimization technology.
Evaluate and drive continuous improvement as it relates to increasing driver utility and overall process efficiency.
Monitor ongoing transportation optimization based on current loads in progress.
Maintains a safety first mindset and helps enforce company policies to ensure DOT compliance and company requirements are being met.
Responsible for driver load monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected stakeholders.
Facilitate and generate transportation reporting for leadership.
Approximately 25% travel required (average of 1 week out of the month).

Education
Minimum Required:
High School Diploma in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or Manufacturing.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics.
