Role Overview

The Dedicated Account Manager (Korean Services) reports to the Manager, Employer Services, and serves as an assigned account manager for employers and employees with Korean language needs and ensures the delivery of excellent quality service and effective account management.

What you will do:

  • Ensure excellent service delivery for Korean speaking employers and members by responding to inquires through all service channels (inbound calls, email, web inquiries, and benefits presentations) in the employers or members native language.

  • Promote and interpret the Benefits Plan and Assistance Program, facilitate employer-related issues and support plan membership growth and retention efforts.

  • Partner with employers to provide guidance on available benefit choices, monitor billing and manage delinquent accounts.

  • Provide pricing consultation, process employer and congregation medical pricing cases, and collaborate with collogues to support of membership growth and retention.

  • Process Assistance Program needs-based grant requests, execute approved grants, and ensure the accuracy of the payment.

  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications Team to proofread materials produced by the Boards Korean language translation services vendor and ensure the accuracy of Korean language materials in support of consistent quality of service delivery to all plan members.

  • Serve as a Benefits Plan expert for member and employer guidance with a primary focus on Korean membership.

  • Provide service and insights on benefits packages and dues incentive programs to support churches and ministries.

  • Consult with members and employers on service-related issues, practices and procedures, and benefits elections.

  • Manage annual Employer Agreement submissions for Korean language churches and assess and recommend changes to support decision making concerning the selection and administration of benefit choices that best suit the needs of the Boards Korean language employees, employers, and mid councils.

What you need to succeed in the role:

  • Fluency in both English and Korean.

  • A bachelors degree in business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4 or more years of strong employee benefits administration account manager experience or equivalent role.

  • Proficiency with benefits administration systems and customer care technologies, Salesforce preferred.

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).

  • Excellent analytic and system literacy skills and a strong ability to review, analyze and make necessary recommendations.

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to help to identify solutions to unique customer needs.

  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure service is completed in a timely manner.

  • An ability to build rapport with employers and members, remain calm and focused, and function effectively in a team environment.

  • An ability to comprehend, interpret, and communicate medical and benefits information in lay-persons terms.

  • An ability to work well with diverse groups and all levels of management to ensure the Board is consistent in its delivery of service.

  • An ability, interest, and desire to stay current via seminars, industry literature, and formal training and development.
