This position is responsible for supporting the sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams paint store, servicing wholesale and retail customers.This position is responsible for assisting customers, with special emphasis on decorative products such as wallcovering, window treatments, faux finishing materials, etc. Incumbents are also required to provide assistance to sales representatives outside of the store. This position maintains the wallcovering and window treatment libraries, lending procedures and displays. It also ensures that orders for these products are handled properly. It is also responsible for tinting and mixing paint, pulling appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse, and assisting with deliveries and warehouse duties as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours and required overtime, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forkllift, etc.).

  • Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must be able to distinguish the difference between colors.

  • Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or comparable certification (e.g. GED). PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior decorative sales experience, particularly in the area of wallcovering.

  • An understanding of DIY customer project expectations, and advanced product and color coordination skills.

  • Associate Degree or related college courses.

  • Customer service skills, including problem solving and handling customer complaints.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

The candidate should have the competency to fill any role within the pre- and post-production workflow in the field, studio, and editing suite environments. The position provides technical expertise and support for electronic and traditional multimedia projects. The position uses a variety of software applications, hardware platforms (Macintosh and PC), and input/output devices for creating and duplicating media products and digital media file transfer/manipulation. The position is responsible for producing a wide variety of multimedia products. Works independently to generate, and utilizes specialized equipment to create, transcode, manage, and archive a wide variety of media formats. Performs software based analysis and manipulation of audio and video signals to assure quality in recording and playback, including noise removal, reduction, filtering, and signal quality. Sets up, operates, and monitors multiple formats of digital and analog audio/video VTRs for duplicating and transcoding. Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required The candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills to interface with customers, staff, and management. On-the-fly problem solving and the ability to work independently are also required. The candidate must have the ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and also be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include overtime. The position requires a working knowledge of video production equipment, processes, and/or systems and some advanced skills in the area of specialty. General knowledge of software- and hardware-based video and audio analysis equipment is required. A working knowledge of contemporary digital file formats, media cataloging and digital archiving for production and long-term records management is necessary. Education & Relevant Experience Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Typical relevant experience ranging from 7 to 10 years. Notes: Thirteen or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting. For postings on the Engineering, Science and IT Ladder, in lieu of a technical bachelor's degree, the Operations Professional Ladder may be considered.
