Join our team as a Decontamination and Processing Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of healthcare procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for the thorough decontamination and processing of medical instruments and equipment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and decontaminates surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment. Collects, receives, and sorts instruments

  • Utilizes cleaning equipment effectively per manufacturer's instructions for use.

  • Collaborates with interdepartmental staff to prioritize and adjust workflow. Expedites processing to meet daily schedule and urgent surgery requirements for instrumentation.

  • Maintains current processing and handling knowledge of complex, fragile, expensive assets such as surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.

  • Follows manufacturer's instructions for use and department procedures to achieve safe and effective cleaning and decontamination of surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or coursework in sterile processing preferred.

  • Previous experience in sterile processing or healthcare environment preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of infection control practices and regulations related to decontamination and sterilization preferred.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
