Decking Team Member

Reports to: Decking Department Manager

Department: Decking

Job Status: Full-Time / Hourly

Mobility Profile: None

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, reliable team player that can add value to our Decking Department. The Decking Team Member will be responsible prep and installation of roof decking in an efficient manner while maintaining a safe, and organized work area.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Read work orders and prints.

• Pull and stage materials for department.

• Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment used to complete carpentry duties including:

• Circular Saw

• Router

• Pneumatic Nail Gun (roofing, framing and finish work)

• Pneumatic Staple Gun

• Hand tools

• Install roof vents skylights and dormers.

• Blown insolation install.

• Lay and install roof decking.

• Cutouts for vent sprinklers etc.

• Assist other departments as needed by productions schedule.

• Performs other duties as assigned by Department manager/Production Mangers

• Continuous exposure to heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors.

• Must wear personal protective equipment while at the location.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Be able to read, write, and speak English.

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED), required.

• Must be able to work in heights with fall harness.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge / Experience within the Manufactured Homes or Construction industry.

• Bilingual (Spanish)

• Experience with Power tools and hand tools

• Analytical skills, ability to solve problems and/or offer alternative solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be available to work overtime and weekends to meet production schedules.

Salary:

• $25 per hour

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.

• Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.

• Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.

• Work primarily involves standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
