Position Summary

The role of the Decision Support/Cost Accountant reports to the Decision Support Manager. This position is responsible for maintenance of the cost accounting system to include working with Directors and Managers to keep costing values and standards up to date with changes occurring within our healthcare system.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance of HPM Costing System including conducting ongoing audits of data

  • Prepare and distribute reports, surveys, and other statistical data daily and monthly.

  • Assist with quarterly and annual governmental cost report modeling and preparation.

  • Assist with governmental cost report audits by CMS and AR Medicaid program.

  • Develop and distribute Ad hoc reports as directed by Manager.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required. Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting, required.

  • Licensure and Certifications: N/A

  • Experience: Previous experience with hospital cost account, preferred. Microsoft office products knowledge required along with Access database experience preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
