Position Summary

Stonehill College is seeking its next Dean of Undergraduate Admission to serve as a member of the leadership team in the Enrollment Division and to oversee all operations within the Department of Undergraduate Admission. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Dean of Undergraduate Admission will lead a team of eight professional staff members and will be responsible for implementing strategies and practices to meet annual first-year and transfer enrollment goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Office of Undergraduate Admission and serve as chairperson of the Committee on Admission.

  • Meet annual enrollment goals as directed by the College's Senior Leadership Team for first-year and transfer students.

  • Collect, monitor, and analyze data to share results with the College's Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

  • Provide management and oversight to the professional staff of eight; coordinate staff education and training, including file review instruction, recruitment strategy, and new staff onboarding.

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team in the Enrollment Division and collaborate regularly with the Director of Marketing, Director of Communications & Media Relations, and Director of Admission Information Systems to achieve divisional and departmental goals.

  • Develop and oversee the execution of the annual recruitment plan in collaboration with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, including staff travel responsibilities, campus programs/events, and communication/marketing outreach.

  • Continue to advance the College's diversity and access goals by developing effective recruitment and yield strategies for students from underrepresented populations, and manage school and community partnerships.

  • Build cross-divisional relationships across the campus community to support recruitment goals and retention efforts, particularly in the divisions/departments of Academic Affairs, Athletics, Advancement, Student Affairs, and Student Financial Assistance.

  • Responsibly manage and efficiently utilize the department's operational budget.

  • Represent the College at internal and external events.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree and a valid driver's license are required. A Master's Degree in a related field is strongly preferred. A minimum of seven (7) years of direct experience in undergraduate admission with progressive project responsibility, management, and leadership is required. The preferred candidate will possess an appreciation and understanding of the mission of Stonehill College and its Catholic and Congregation of Holy Cross tradition.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with various deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and commitment to customer service are required. Experience with Slate by Technolutions and the Ellucian Banner Database is preferred. A knowledge and understanding of current trends and best practices in higher education, enrollment, admission, and student financial assistance, and the ability to integrate them into departmental strategy and programming is an important part of this position.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
