What Youll Do

As the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction you will coach, develop, and manage teachers at Veritas Prep, ensuring they have the support they need to grow and strengthen their teaching practice and to provide excellent instruction for all students. Youll be a key instructional leader in the building, leading curriculum development and implementation, providing input around yearly goals, and influencing a strong and joyful student and adult culture.

Youll also:

  • Regularly observe and coach teachers around classroom management, key school-wide routines and procedures, content knowledge, and instructional delivery, tailoring coaching plans to teachers needs.
  • Create and facilitate weekly, practice-based professional development for teachers.
  • Lead weekly team meetings with Content Leads, ensuring strong subject matter knowledge and setting clear expectations for strong student work.
  • Use data regularly to influence coaching decisions, PD decisions, and team meeting facilitation.
  • Support the planning and implementation of school-wide assessments and lead the data analysis and reteach follow-up plans for content teams
  • Integrate the teaching of social emotional program skills into both formal and informal teaching moments with students and model this for teachers.
  • Be highly present and visible during school hours and key moments in the school.
  • Foster strong relationships with and among team members, providing clear, consistent communication, expectations, and support, as well as opportunities for team collaboration and problem solving

Requirements

What Youll Need (Qualifications)

  • An unwavering belief that all students can achieve amazing things
  • A passion for continuous growth as an educator and leader
  • Teaching experience, with a proven track record of success
  • Previous experience coaching educators and implementing curriculum (preferred)
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred)
  • Bachelors degree (Masters preferred)
  • Have or be eligible for a MA teaching license
  • SEI endorsement within one year of employment
  • Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

You’ll plan and teach lessons in reading, writing, and history, ensuring that every student has the knowledge and skills to access grade-level standards and work. You’ll partner with your co-advisor to build a strong classroom community, where students feel safe, seen, included, and able to reach their lofty goals.
