Job Responsibilities

Curriculum: Monitoring programs and enrollment trends to ensure effective use of labor and other allocated resources; ensuring that all programs lead to employable graduates and that program design facilitates student retention and completion; conducting periodic reviews of existing programs; updating existing programs as appropriate; developing and recommending new programs to meet workforce demands.

Personnel: Screening and recommending permanent faculty and staff, recommending salaries and salaries increases, managing the evaluation system for the division and ensuring the timely hiring and evaluation of part-time faculty; evaluate all employees in compliance with EPMS/FPMS procedures, including the timely completion of the appraisals.

Advising: Assuming responsibility for student advising and registration activities within the divisions; resolve student complaints and grievances. Budget: Allocating division/departmental funds; managing divisional resources to include budget preparation, approval of operational and personnel expenditures and equipment purchases; maintain up-to-date equipment inventory; ensure appropriate equipment placement and usage; and predict long-range equipment needs.

Assessment: Leading the division's retention, completion, and continuous quality improvement activities.

Ensuring that all courses and programs are assessed appropriately and that changes to curriculum are based on assessment data. Ensuring broad faculty participation in the assessment process.

Professional Development: Assuming leadership role in developing professional and personal competencies so as to improve knowledge, skills, and proficiency in present position; developing and implementing plans that promote professional growth of faculty and staff within the divisions.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Master's degree in a related discipline plus six (6) years of progressively related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Degreed engineer with Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure and/or doctorate degree, experience in a community/technical college and experience in developing/growth engineering/ industrial/business /computer technology programs are preferred.
