As a Deal Implementation and Special Projects Associate, you will be responsible for deal implementation, deal monitoring and special projects across all Powered by Avant bank partnerships. You will be tasked with implementing processes within each business unit to ensure we meet our obligations to our bank partners under each deal we've executed with each bank partner and, on an ongoing basis, working with each business unit to ensure we are complying with such obligations.

As a Deal Implementation and Special Projects Associate, you will be working directly with the executive team and business units across the organization. You will not only be responsible for ensuring that we meet our ongoing obligations to our bank partners, but will also be expected to promote a culture of awareness and transparency throughout the organization.

Additionally, you will be responsible for executing various special projects that have an impact across all bank partners.

What you do at Avant

  • Immediately after Avant on-boards a new Powered-by-Avant bank partner, you will be responsible for operationalizing all of our obligations to such bank partner (such obligations will be provided to you in an easily digestible form). You will meet with each business owner to communicate the obligations impacting their department, and work to establish processes (whether manual or automated) by which Avant can ensure it will meet such requirements.

  • Following the establishment of such processes for any given bank partner, you will continually monitor Avant operations and meet regularly with the business owners to ensure ongoing compliance with said requirements.

  • Upon learning that we've failed to meet any deal requirement(s), you will work with the bank partner relationship owner and the business owner to promptly remediate the issues and ensure proper communication of the issue to the bank partner.

  • You will be in charge of special projects impacting all of our bank partners such as managing the addition of vendors to banks' platforms, Service Level Agreements across bank partners, and the remediation process for findings during due diligence.

  • You will participate in continuous improvement efforts, including improving department policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Other duties as assigned.

VIEW JOBS 10/26/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-24T00:00 Duties & Responsibilities: * Conduct pre-trade compliance checks for trade orders, in accordance with account/fund investment restrictions (i.e., number of holdings, market capitalization and diversification tests), SEC & IRS diversification tests and Firm holding limits/restrictions. * Process trade orders given by PM's by submitting the orders into the trading systems (Trackers, Charles River Investment Management System, etc.) * Troubleshoot and resolve trade-related problems on a timely basis and provide appropriate follow-up. * Monitor status of open orders, cash positions and portfolio weightings/dispersion, tax trades and wash sales alerting PM's about situations that may need addressing, and providing suggestions on how best to bring portfolios in line with PM wishes. * Review and monitor cash levels across all portfolios. * Assist with creation and maintenance of PI procedures. * Assist with the creation and maintenance of the Client Restriction spreadsheet. * Assist with monitoring performance and holdings across investment strategies * Monitor for tax trading opportunities and provide suggestions to PM's for potential tax trades, prepare unrealized gain/loss reports, track tax trades for PM's, and work with GIS to ensure tax trades are properly booked at the custodians * Be pro-active in maximizing the use of systems and recommending improvements in procedures and reporting. * Support PM's with reports, spreadsheets, dispersion and modeling or other requests. * Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications: Required: * Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Fund Analyst, Mutual Fund Accountant or Portfolio Administrator within a mutual fund, investment management or brokerage firm. * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field, or prior related work experience. * Prior experience in trades portfolio administration and investment servicing. * Must possess a track record showing a high degree of initiative, adaptability, organizational skills, and self-motivation in reaching for additional responsibilities in areas where s/he can add value. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization. * Must possess a strong work ethic, high degree of initiative and adaptability, excellent attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. * Must possess the ability to work with numerous and conflicting deadlines, while successfully meeting them. Preferred: * Strong knowledge of registered investment companies (RICs), equity, fixed income, and option investments. * Experience using portfolio accounting systems, trade order management systems, Bloomberg, and Factset. * Prior client service experience. Special Requirements: Work hours may periodically rotate and could range from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM (or later), 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (or later) or other depending on the needs of the organization, which may change and evolve over time. After hours and holiday on-call rotating support, will be required in both primary and back-up roles to enter trades during Asian and European trading hours (i.e. 5:30 PM until 5:30 AM). This individual must be willing to serve as a back-up to other team members who may be on different work schedules and must be flexible as s/he may be requested to adjust work schedules as needed.
