Position Summary:Our Defined Contribution Investment (DCI) Internal Associate is responsible for supporting sales, service, and training efforts for the internal sales desk by partnering with our Internal and External Advisor Consultants to maintain, grow and develop business opportunities. This involves having a strong proficiency in Hartford Funds' investment strategies and product capabilities.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist in executing a business plan to grow advocacy, understanding and training of our firm's DCI initiative with Internal Advisor Consultants

  • Support internal efforts to expand awareness and drive sales of Hartford Funds products with record keeping wholesalers, targeted partner firms, retirement advisors and other centers of influence

  • Profile opportunities and execute established sales strategies that will result in capturing DC assets in Hartford Funds products in retirement plans

  • Work in coordination with the DCI Internal Specialist and Internal Advisor Consultants to execute outbound sales call campaigns and strategic territory coverage

  • Respond to inquiries and resolve problems of a complex nature with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Stay current and up-to-date with market, economic and industry trends, as well as competitor products

  • Maintain a detailed level of knowledge of Hartford Funds products and services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably business, economics, finance, sales or marketing (or equivalent on-the-job experience)

  • Experience in DCI or retirement marketplace preferred

  • Strong knowledge of the retirement plan market, and an existing network of retirement advisors in assigned territory

  • Strong knowledge of the DC channel including plan design, regulatory matters, investments, ERISA, distribution, and recordkeeping.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong group presentation and financial sales skills

  • Excellent organization skills

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$60,000 - $100,000
