College/Department Information

The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond.

The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.

Job Summary

This position is essential to the operations of the DCG Deans Office in support of all processes related to Faculty Affairs.

The position ensures DCG is compliant with the Council on Dental Accreditation Standard 3 (Faculty & Staff) requires each dental school to have sufficient faculty numbers to achieve the mission 3-1. The position manages (Recruitment, Interviewing, Offer Letters, Onboarding & Retention),. It also ensures to show on going faculty development process 3-2 ( which includes managing Retreats, In-service / Annual training, Awards & Recognitions),. It oversees a form of faculty self-governance 3-3 (which is DCG Faculty Senate & Committees and to have an evaluation process that ensures objective measurement of faculty performance Annual Performance Evals and have a clearly stated process for Promotion and Tenure (P & T and Pre/Post- T committees and process).

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

MANAGE ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS: Manage the DCG faculty administrative action process with responsibilities that include decisions for and actions in initiating and monitoring all ePAR transactions associated with faculty transactions. Serving in an advisory capacity to department chairs and support personnel on best practices for faculty actions.

FACULTY SUPPORT: Provide administrative support for the DCG Faculty Senate including scheduling executive and general meetings, archiving minutes and other related documents, maintaining the DCG Committee list, updating DCG Senate Bylaws, and setting up an anonymous electronic voting process for candidates that have been nominated to serve in leadership roles or to represent the DCG on AU Senate committees.

FACULTY AWARDS and RECOGNITION: Support the DCG Faculty award and recognition programs, including solicitation of nominations, maintaining support letters or candidate portfolios and CV's, and an anonymous electronic voting processes for candidates.

SURVEY: Support the Vice Dean and the DCG Faculty Development Committee with planning and organizing the annual DCG Faculty Retreats and other DCG faculty workshops and in-service trainings.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT: Manage several budgets for Faculty Affairs including the Office (supplies), Faculty Senate, and the Vice Dean¿s budgets for faculty support (committees & awards) and personal for dues and travel.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.

OR

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business administration or related field with a minimum of three years of related experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B10

Salary: Minimum $52,500/annual

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Credit Check
