Position Purpose: Responsible for organizing and maintaining floor processes in assigned departments to achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring safety is the top priority.

Position Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday 12 pm

  • 8:30 pm

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervising all department functions including the off-loading, labeling, putting away, picking, assembling, pulling, and prepping of merchandise with efficiency for delivery to our customers.

  • Supervising the flow of all returning merchandise back into our system & in the proper status.

  • Ensuring that returning merchandise is unloaded, inspected, and put back into the rack by the Returns team with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Directing, training, cross training, motivating, and evaluating staff to ensure they are an effective team and that they are following company policies, including safety requirements.

  • Proactively communicate issues with Shipping and Customer Service including repetitive issues that flow through the area in regard to prep of merchandise, returns authorized by service and/or outside vendor that may be erroneous, repetitive vendor issues.

  • Oversee and ensure integrity of inventory movement through the area. Ensure all items are properly wrapped and labeled for put-away. Reconcile inventory reports.

  • Setting and maintaining standards for merchandise flow in and out of assigned areas.

  • Completing all necessary reports to keep Warehouse and Operations management abreast of what's happening in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Ensuring that company policies are followed by the Returns team, especially safety requirements.

  • Ensuring integrity of the merchandise flowing through assigned areas and material handling equipment and tools to prevent damage and to prevent loss.

  • Assists with hiring by interviewing and evaluating potential candidates.

  • Writing performance review and discipline of direct reports along with management.

  • Assisting in all departments as needed and work extra hours and / or days occasionally when volume dictates

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of a distribution center's returned merchandise procedures, practices, and regulations, usually acquired through two or more years of experience within a warehouse environment.

  • Must have the leadership skills required to effectively supervise a team in achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Good communication skills (i.e. English verbal and written are required).

  • Must have good PC skills and be able to perform/learn to perform required tasks in Warehouse Management system.

  • Must be able to become certified in higlift operation.

  • Must be able to apply and ensure that staff applies caution and safety procedures.
