Job Description:

Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.

  • Position will rotate every two years, with the incumbent transferred to a field Management position commensurate with their current level of development.

  • Provide operational and analytical support to DC Operations.

  • Works closely with the DC Operations Management team and key personnel from other departments.

  • Improve department performance through analysis involving DC operating expenses, productivity performance, procedural evaluations, quality metrics, and other new initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities -

The primary tasks the associate will perform during his/her work schedule.

  • Maintain Daily Distribution Report and analyze trends by building type.

  • Maintain monthly DC performance report and perform trend analysis.

  • Work closely with Sr. Logistics Analyst on D.C. budgets and monthly P&L reports. Make recommendations to leverage D.C. operating expenses.

  • Help facilitate operational "best practices" for the Logistics Division.

  • Monitor the productivity performance of DC personnel and report variances to DC Operations Management team.

  • Perform DC operations analysis make recommendations for process improvement.

  • Review, revise, and implement standard operating procedures for all aspects of DC Operations with guidance from the DC Operations management team.

  • Facilitate the development of reliable DC capacity planning through analysis of historical trends and forecasts.

  • Prepare annual and monthly capacity review and facilitate meetings with General Managers and the Logistics senior team.

  • Work with Logistics staff to develop, monitor, and maintain DC network optimization model.

  • Make recommendations and develop "what if" scenarios in order to better leverage distribution centers and other fixed assets.

  • Interface with other departments to facilitate economical and smooth flow of merchandise through the supply chain.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
  • College degree a must, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics.

  • Minimum of one year's experience as a L1 in any of the DCs.

  • Must demonstrate high potential for future advancement.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint.

  • Working knowledge of MS Project.

  • Demonstrated understanding of basic principles of Logistics and Distribution.

  • Group or individual project work that demonstrated problem solving and analytical strength or comparable experience in the work force.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, logistics procedures within the department and outside of the department.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and ability to meet project deadlines.

  • Must be capable of using operational support software to complete daily tasks.

Desired Qualifications

  • Desired but not required.MS Access query building and database creation

Capable of writing visual basic code and macros in MS Access
