This is a 2nd shift position.

To troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the accuracy, reliability and system control's data credibility of PLC and PC based automation systems. Effectively utilize building management system's interface tools and equipment to achieve efficiency. Communicate and partner with internal engineering staff and equipment vendors.


  • Exhibit the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic design of PLC logic, operator interface terminal, energy management systems and electrical installations.

  • Statistically interpret and improve automated system's performance parameters, at macro/micro level. 50%

  • Perform Preventive Maintainance for controls and systematize electrical/control parts inventory. 15%

  • Coordinate with vendors, installation of electrical or controls; as instructed. 10%

  • Maintain accurate record keeping such as: work orders, timesheets, parts requests. 5%

  • Maintain parts procedure and inventory control 5%

PLC Skills:
Familiarity with RS Logix 500 and RS Logix 5000 instruction set and intermediate proficiency in writing logic.

  • Ability to use Relay Ladder Logic and Functional Block Diagram Editor

  • Possess a functional understanding of configuring closed loop control utilizing PIDE in FBD Editor

Fieldbus Network Skills:
Familiarity with design and implementation (hardware and software) for the following networks:

  • Controlnet

  • Devicenet

  • Ethernet

  • Profibus

  • Universal Remote (I/O) Network

  • Sercos Interface

  • Modbus

Additional Special Skills Required:

Functional knowledge in configuring instrumentation, referring to manufacturer documentation.

Strong ability to read manuals and understand functionality of instrumentation and use of configuring software.

Functional (intermediate) understanding of electrical circuits, in reference to industrial automation.

Familiarity with current National Electrical Code (NEC).

Ability to read electrical schematics.

Ability to use process meter and operate oscilloscope.

Functional familiarity with HVAC principles for Building Management Systems (BMS).

Knowledgeable in the assembly of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, robotic operation and vision systems and the ability to assemble new equipment; and modify existing manufacturing equipment.

Connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security and communications.

Understanding of 3 phase distribution and 3 phase power transmission system.

Firm grasp on testing 3 phase related equipment 480v and below.

Energy management (BMS) software and hardware familiarity.

Clear understanding of power systems grounding and safe grounding practices.

Familiarity with Motor Control Center (MCC)

Understanding of Arc Flash Hazard.

Familiarity: electrical construction and configuration (hardware/software) of basic electrical components used in automation systems: Solenoids Beacons Proximity Switches, etc.

Understanding of PLC Hardware: Pico Controllers, MicroLogix 1500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix and SLC 500 systems. 1794 Flex I/O system.

Familiarity would be a plus with: WAGO-I/O System, Siemens Simatic Step 7, Controller Area Network (CAN), B&R X67 I/O system.

Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled.

Exhibit the ability to work independently, safely and with limited supervision.

VIEW JOBS 7/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-15T00:00 GENERAL PURPOSE: Supervise all functions pertaining to facilities maintenance, to include, but not limited to; preventive maintenance programs, repairs to the building, property, and all material handling equipment. Oversee maintenance G&A expense for all budgeted items in the Maintenance and Repair accounts. Oversee expenses related to other services sub accounts of landscaping, mat rental, pest control, snow removal, janitorial, waste management, fire system maintenance, and certification. Review and recommend changes to existing material handling equipment and all proposed construction projects. Responsible for timeline compliance, and quality of work for external construction projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Oversee the maintenance of all operating equipment, and facility systems. Enforce proper turn time of preventive maintenance schedules. Ensure timely response to critical equipment downtime issues in the distribution center. * Train/develop maintenance personnel; authenticate that skill sets meet minimum requirements of job function. * Make use of the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), utilizing it to its full capability. * Interact with outside vendors relative to the coordination of all construction projects to the facility, property and equipment. Responsible for validation of quality work, and compliance of all safety standards. * Oversee the required back stock of maintenance spare parts and supplies while minimizing inventory levels through strong supplier partnerships * Ensure contractual compliance to include: landscape, mat rental, pest control, snow removal, waste management, and fire system maintenance accounts. * Maintain an active partnership with the safety committee to ensure strong alliance regarding all safety issues on the property COMPETENCIES: * Analysis & Judgment * Leadership * Communication * Technical / Functional Competence * Planning & Organizing * Coaching QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: * 8-10 years maintenance experience in large distribution center and/or manufacturing environment. * 2 years of supervisory experience in a large distribution center and/or manufacturing environment. * Technically proficient in mechanical and electrical maintenance. * Ability to review and critique schematic diagrams. * Comprehensive knowledge of CMMS. * Knowledge of 5-S practices preferred * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. * Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations. * Awareness of state/local regulations, and code requirements * Must have outstanding interpersonal, and communication skills (oral/written) * Strong organizational skills. * Proficient P.C. skills, to include Microsoft Excel and Word.
