This is a 2nd shift position.

To troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the accuracy, reliability and system control's data credibility of PLC and PC based automation systems. Effectively utilize building management system's interface tools and equipment to achieve efficiency. Communicate and partner with internal engineering staff and equipment vendors.


  • Exhibit the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic design of PLC logic, operator interface terminal, energy management systems and electrical installations.

  • Statistically interpret and improve automated system's performance parameters, at macro/micro level. 50%

  • Perform Preventive Maintainance for controls and systematize electrical/control parts inventory. 15%

  • Coordinate with vendors, installation of electrical or controls; as instructed. 10%

  • Maintain accurate record keeping such as: work orders, timesheets, parts requests. 5%

  • Maintain parts procedure and inventory control 5%

PLC Skills:
Familiarity with RS Logix 500 and RS Logix 5000 instruction set and intermediate proficiency in writing logic.

  • Ability to use Relay Ladder Logic and Functional Block Diagram Editor

  • Possess a functional understanding of configuring closed loop control utilizing PIDE in FBD Editor

Fieldbus Network Skills:
Familiarity with design and implementation (hardware and software) for the following networks:

  • Controlnet

  • Devicenet

  • Ethernet

  • Profibus

  • Universal Remote (I/O) Network

  • Sercos Interface

  • Modbus

Additional Special Skills Required:

Functional knowledge in configuring instrumentation, referring to manufacturer documentation.

Strong ability to read manuals and understand functionality of instrumentation and use of configuring software.

Functional (intermediate) understanding of electrical circuits, in reference to industrial automation.

Familiarity with current National Electrical Code (NEC).

Ability to read electrical schematics.

Ability to use process meter and operate oscilloscope.

Functional familiarity with HVAC principles for Building Management Systems (BMS).

Knowledgeable in the assembly of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, robotic operation and vision systems and the ability to assemble new equipment; and modify existing manufacturing equipment.

Connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security and communications.

Understanding of 3 phase distribution and 3 phase power transmission system.

Firm grasp on testing 3 phase related equipment 480v and below.

Energy management (BMS) software and hardware familiarity.

Clear understanding of power systems grounding and safe grounding practices.

Familiarity with Motor Control Center (MCC)

Understanding of Arc Flash Hazard.

Familiarity: electrical construction and configuration (hardware/software) of basic electrical components used in automation systems: Solenoids Beacons Proximity Switches, etc.

Understanding of PLC Hardware: Pico Controllers, MicroLogix 1500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix and SLC 500 systems. 1794 Flex I/O system.

Familiarity would be a plus with: WAGO-I/O System, Siemens Simatic Step 7, Controller Area Network (CAN), B&R X67 I/O system.

Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled.

Exhibit the ability to work independently, safely and with limited supervision.

Responsible for developing and maintaining an open, engaging labor relations environment which remains issue free. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Manage hourly team to ensure timely and accurate processing and distribution of merchandise to stores * By effectively using the MAP (Managing Associate Performance) process, train, assess, motivate, coach, and evaluate associates in all areas of job duties using established methods and standards. * Ensure rapid, accurate movement and processing of merchandise using established engineered methods and standards. * Organize and prioritize daily work orders and staffing needs to meet production goals. * Responsible for accuracy/quality of work for all assigned regular & temp associates. * Responsible for creating an effective team culture which recognizes individual and team performance, while maintaining an issue free environment in a demanding work environment. * Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other Area Supervisors, DC Operations Management, and all support departments. * Conduct daily huddle meetings to communicate important daily events & priorities. * Assist with the coordination of associate training/meetings for subjects such as safety, human resources, new process orientation, and other subjects as conditions necessitate. * Enforce policies/procedures and safety regulations, providing appropriate constructive & positive consequences to team for managing safe working behaviors. * Conduct corrective action meetings regarding job performance, attendance and behavior with associates, in compliance with company policies and procedures, including the separation process when direct reports are to be separated from employment. * Utilization of HR Services by: * Using provided resources and tools, refer or answer non-exempt questions re: payroll, benefits, policy, who to contact * Support required HRS investigations; engage with necessary parties for initial fact-findings, document findings and escalate to HRS using email template * Write and administer corrective actions and non-exempt separations. * Contact HRS regarding any accommodation issues as they arise * Follow HRS Management Reference Guide for compliance with established processes and company policies * Ensure associates follow the DC Pay-to-the-Punch guidelines, to include the timely administration of the missed punch process for Payroll * Partner with the Transactional Talent team for on-boarding, job-posting, inquiries, etc. as needed * Manage all administrative tasks and functions for responsible area. * Perform internal realistic job previews in accordance with the Job Posting Process. * Prepare associate evaluations and administer reviews with the assistance of the DC Merchandise Manager. * Maintain daily paperwork, such as time and production records. * Assist merchandise processors with paperwork, ticketing problems and troubleshooting orders. * Provide updates to DC Merchandise Manager on production planning information and needs/problems of the area. * Miscellaneous functions and responsibilities: * Work on special projects as needed. * Attend and help plan any special events planned for his/her team.
