We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DBA Operation L1/L2 Manager to join our team. As the DBA Operation L1/L2 Manager, you will be responsible for Planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day activities of our database systems. You will lead a team of DBA Operator L1/L2 professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal database performance and support the organization's data management objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of around 10-15 DBA Operator L1/L2 professionals globally, providing guidance, training, and support.

  • Perform routine database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, migration, patches, and upgrades of database systems including setting performance goals, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.

  • Define and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team, ensuring alignment with department and company goals.

  • Monitor and track team performance against set KPIs, identifying areas of improvement and implementing necessary actions.

  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) for incident response, problem resolution, and service request fulfillment.

  • Develop and maintain team documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and knowledge base articles.

  • Collaborate with other managers and stakeholders to prioritize and allocate resources for database projects and initiatives.

  • Provide regular reports and updates to upper management regarding database performance, incidents, and projects.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve the team's processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Lead regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.

  • Proven 5+ years' work experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role, with expertise in database administration for large-scale systems.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their RDBMS databases.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Windows, Unix or Linux.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading a team of DBA professionals.

  • Strong knowledge of database monitoring and management tools.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to staying updated with industry advancements.

  • Responsible for performance management, staff development, and decisions regarding staffing and hiring.

  • Oversee the delivery of database service activities.

  • Experience and knowledge of monitoring and monitoring tools e.g., SCOM, Datadog,

  • Experience with issue, change control tracking software's e.g., Remedy-ITSM, JIRA.
