Daycare Kitchen Assistant/Breaker

Reporting to the Center Director, the Kitchen Assistant/Breaker acts as an integral member of the Kids & Company team to assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking at the kitchen. Breakers are responsible for covering breaks, ratios, and other times where needed at the discretion of the center director, in the childcare centers, through the conscientious application of Kids & Company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kitchen Assistant

• Daily Duties include heating food, preparing vegetables, and starches, cutting fruit, portioning, dishwashing, and delivering food to the classrooms.
• Responsible for assisting Cook prepare meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Complies with all health regulations and the company's best practice
• Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

Breaker

• Provides nurturing care to young children in a group setting
• Cover breaks for classroom lead teachers
• Assists in all areas of implementation of enriched programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
• Works with the team in the classroom to provide excellent supervision and interaction with children at all times including in all classrooms, sleep rooms, outside/walking and playground activities
• Help children learn and grow with our personalized curriculum
• Assist children in activities
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the childcare centres
