Responsibilities If you are a nurse that enjoys the fast paced setting and a variety of "every day is different" mentality, this is the setting for you!The Day Surgery nurse will prepare patients for same day surgeries including, basic history and physical, IV starts, intaking patients to surgery and communicating with the rest of perioperative team.

What you will need in this role:

  • Adaptability and Flexibility*

  • The surgical day setting has a rapid turnover of patients and we need nurses who can think quick on their feet and love variety

  • A great listener and good assessment skills*

  • Surgical Nurses are usually the first to see the patient and they will be listening to all concerns, questions and educating patients on their surgery. It's important to pick up on small things and ease a patients mind as you educate them on the surgical process

  • Team player*

  • We move fast and each person on the team helps each other throughout the day to get our patients seen in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • RN II Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas

  • BLS with skills demonstration

  • At least one (1) year of RN experience

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as Surgical Nurse

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
