Where you'll work

You'll be based out of one off the 13 branches that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home, if you like!). Specifically the Seattle Y offers summer camp programs throughout the greater Seattle area. The programs are located in community parks, schools and other community buildings. Programs use classrooms, multipurpose rooms, gyms, outdoor spaces and take frequent field trips.

The Seattle Y offers a competitive pay range and part time or full time benefit packages, as eligible.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

Every day hundreds of children participate in fun and engaging YMCA summer day camp programs. Be part of leading an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and support children as they grow and learn. Recreational activities with campers, include but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports, social recreation, songs, nature hikes, archery, and other games and enrichment activities.

You have the ability to oversee a group of children to ensure their health and safety needs are met while continuously providing a positive enriching experience for each child. Assistant Camp Directors will assist in maintaining required records according to YMCA standards, including attendance records, registration information, accident reports and discipline records. You will plan and implement activities and step in as the lead onsite when the Camp Director is not present.

Qualifications

You are 21 years of age or older and should have:

  • 2 years or more of experience with children in a camp setting

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty

  • Experience planning and implementing group activities

  • 2+ year experience supervising others

VIEW JOBS 9/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-10T00:00 Job Description Deburr As prescribed, performs such typical finishing operations as breaking edges and finishing threads, chamfering and blending surfaces to facilitate the completion of machined parts per engineering requirements. Refers to parts prints, parts list, templates, work orders, etc. for dimensions and finish information. Uses a variety of hand tools, bench grinders, and disc and belt sanders to remove flashings, burrs, and surface irregularities prior to or following machine operations. Oils, verifies part count, and packages finished parts as required. Use of precision measuring equipment required. Shift: Friday - Sunday 5:30am-6:30pm (work 36 hours, get paid for 40!) Primary Responsibilities: * Setup hand tools, work bench, and other support tooling in a safe manner that protects the operator and the finished surface and dimensional integrity of the machined part * Properly dispose of metallic scrap material, keep work area clean and orderly, and return tools to their assigned locations on completion of assignments * Review daily work orders, obtain clarification from lead or supervisor as needed, and enter operator initials, signatures, and completions as required * Inform work area leads of progress, completion, and readiness for new assignments * Seek appropriate training on new machines and tools Required Skills: * Familiar with hand-held tools such as dye grinders, edge scrapers, pencil grinders * Able to operate drill press, drill jig, mill, lathe, and planes when require * Blueprint reading, basic shop math, General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) * Good manual dexterity with ability to maintain close tolerances * Ability to professionally communicate and work with others * Good attention to detail Education: High School Diploma Experience: 1-2 years experience in Aerospace or manufacturing industries Precision Castparts Corp. is an equal opportunity employer committed to recruit, hire, train, and promote in all job categories without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or other status protected by applicable law.
