Davidson Outdoors Summer Challenge Course And Teambuilding Program Support

Description:

Davidson Outdoors Summer Challenge Course and Teambuilding Support provides skill training and mentorship for the Outdoor Odyssey program. This includes involvement in training and development of Outdoors Odyssey trip leaders, providing instruction in specific outdoor skills to DO leaders, and organizing and conducting TL debriefs. This also includes involvement in Outdoor Odyssey logistics.

• Provide Challenge Course Training for up to 12 trip leaders

• Provide support for student growth as facilitators

• Provide consultation and support for challenge course and teambuilding risk management

• Support Outdoor Odyssey Training logistics including driving large vehicles

• Provide on-call support when the director is not present

Knowledge Skills and Training:

• Background in outdoor leadership, challenge courses, and teambuilding

• Knowledge of generally accepted practices in outdoor education

• Solid computer skills including competence with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms

• Commitment to student development, leadership and teamwork

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Requirements:

Approved college HOV driver with valid license

Experience with the DO Challenge Course and policies

Environmental and physical demands:

Job entails prolonged periods outdoors, including exposure to inclement weather, toxic plants and wildlife.

Job occasionally requires use of solvents, adhesives and petroleum fuels.
