The Application Platform Senior Analyst for DBEC (Database Expert Center) is responsible, under the direction of the Application Platform Senior Manager or an Application Platform Manager, for the design, the development, the deployment, and the proper operations of global database technology solutions and related special projects the role is assigned to.
The Senior Analyst may be working in sub-teams, involving other associates, peers or external resources located around the globe, and may be responsible for specific set of complex database technologies and also some specific database operational controls.
The scope of the activities is global, covering all the other technology solutions supporting global applications except SAP and Business Intelligence solutions. The role requires at least 5 years of experience with database technology management, strong ability to influence and interact with peers and customers located remotely and across the globe.
Within application platform team, the Global Database Expert Center (DBEC) team is responsible for providing 24x365 support for all Oracle databases (currently approx. 750) and SQL Server instances (currently approx. 600) hosted at global data centers. The associate will work within this global team and provide expert DBA delivery and support to the customers.
Provide technical expertise for the technology solutions he/she has been assigned to ;
Translate functional requirements into technical solution specifications ;
Perform and execute technical design, development and configuration activities within the technology area he/she is in charge, in line with quality standards in place ;
Document solutions developed according to the defined rules in place, allowing for the solution to be supported by the Operational team ;
Lead and follow-up development and project activities, as assigned by the manager, for on- site and off shore contracted resources ;
Take care of the operational aspects of database technologies assigned to him/her, and also for further improving already existing database technologies ;
Promote procedures, standards and principles in place and seek for opportunities to improve them for the Technology area he is in charge ;
As part of this role, the associate will have to provide guidance to contractors or contracting resources assigned as part of a managed service ;
As part of his role, the associate may also have to contribute in providing advice and expertise to projects and application teams on how to set up suitable infrastructure and database technologies to support global Business Applications.
Will be responsible for implementing new database related technologies that align with Mars IS strategies and priorities through research and strategic planning.
Education & Professional Qualification
8+ years experience within Infrastructure Technology areas
Proven leadership and Influencing experience through interaction with key stakeholders
In-depth expertise in IT Infrastructure and Database technology
5+ years experience in Oracle database and Microsoft SQL Server database management
