Requirements

The Survey, Recruitment, and Biospecimen Collection Shared Resource (SRBSR) provides an integrated suite of comprehensive services for planning and implementing research projects.

  • The SRBSR facilitates implementation of studies through provision of an integrated suite of services spanning the continuum of research, starting with early planning and design through the production of final datasets for analysis. SRBSR is seeking an experienced Database Manager/Analyst to join our team.

Under general supervision of the SRBSR Manager, the Database Manager/Analyst provides data management and collaboration on the design, and implementation of research projects for the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Georgetown University Medical Center. Duties of the The Data Manager/Analyst include but are not limited to:

  • Provides data management database programming in support of research projects by investigators for population sciences, including studies in health services research, genetic counseling and genetic testing studies, behavioral studies, clinical interventions, smoking cessation studies and observational studies including survey research. Provides data management for faculty and postdoctoral researchers on the design and conduct of research projects relating to a wide diversity of research projects focusing on, but not limited to, cancer prevention and treatment.

  • Work with multiple Pis to develop tailored database management solutions to the specific need of individual research projects.

  • Program databases and data entry programs for specific research projects.

  • Builds and maintains databases for each research project.

  • Assists in conceptualizing,creating and managing custom database applications for research studies (MS Access, REDCap).

  • Creates datasets from large databases using SAS and SPSS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Database Management, Data Analytics or related

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in data management

  • MS Access or SQL, SAS or SPSS required

  • Advanced programming and statistical skills in SAS or SPSS required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience with preferred experience in health care focused research projects, particularly in database programming, data management and programming relating to survey data and large, secondary datasets

  • Experience with cancer studies and with handling large datasets

Requirements The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the oversight of all financial management functions within the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center's (LCCC) Cancer Prevention and Control Program, as well as the Innovative Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI). S/he assists faculty in analysis, management, and reconciliation of all worktags and subcontracts, serving as the administrative liaison with Federal, State, and Corporate sources of funding. The incumbent is responsible for annual budget preparation, modifications, and monthly variance reporting, having signature authority in the absence of the AD for Administration. Reporting to the Associate Director for Administration in LCCC, the Senior Financial Analyst has additional duties that include but are not limited to: * Oversees and provides daily management of $10-15 million in extramural support from government and private agencies as well as multiple subcontracts, including adherence to budgets, policies, and regulations, spend analysis and management, and reconciliation and communication of all awards, ensuring all financial status reports are accurate and timely and that invoices, including subcontracts, are within the budgeted award and scope of work. * Monitors and provides cancer center leaders with the fiscal status of all funds, ensuring all funds in deficit or underspent are addressed promptly and brought to the attention of the AD for Administration and AD for Population Sciences and Innovative Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI), or their designee. * Prepares monthly variance reports and communicates results to CC leadership, reviewing and approving all financial documents and human resources documents requiring fiscal approval by the AD for Administration. * Follows-up on questionable transactions to ensure compliance with Medical Center and University policies and procedures, serving as a resource to scientific leaders. * Manages the development and fiscal management of $2-5 million in operating funds for the Cancer Prevention and Control Program and Innovative Center for Biomedical Informatics, including annual budget development and maintaining budget control documentation to ensure salaries and costing allocations are accurately reflected. * Manages monthly reconciliation of all worktags in CPC including GR funds and ensures operating personnel budgets are reconciled and variances addressed with leadership. * Tracks annual salary adjustments by merit increases, promotions, comparability, and any other adjustments, serving as liaison with HR on LCC CPC related issues. * Coordinates changes in awards (cost and no-cost extension requests) and manages subcontract documents to ensure invoicing is correct and current. * Coordinates changes in awards and new awards with Pre-award and communicates with LCCC staff who have responsibility for managing these areas. * Establishes or coordinates new worktags and other system components.
