Our Database Management Administrator supports the enterprises System Database Management functions. Our Database Management Administrator collaborates with the database team and technical leads to ensure our database designs are best in class, our configurations are efficient and our implementations are on time and on budget.

As a Database Management Administrator you will:

  • Manage database delivery to support the System Database Administration

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Development teams on all database design, development, and implementation phases

  • Experience and proficiency working with SQL Server and Oracle Databases including database creation, analysis, performance, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and enhancements

Our Preferred candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in Database administration, support, and maintenance. Experience with Oracle Database and SQL Server Database technologies preferred.

  • Strong knowledge in database systems including: Exposure to Installation, Configuration, Upgrade, Migration, Monitoring and Maintenance of Oracle and SQL Server Databases.

  • General knowledge of Cloud Technologies, such as Azure and AWS.

JOB SUMMARY The DBA I, under general guidance, is responsible for maintaining high performance, high availability and business recovery planning of database environments across the organization. Responsible for installing database subsystems using industry best practices related to security, performance, and manageability. The DBA I is accountable for maintaining service level agreements as defined by IT Management. Resolve issues associated with Organizations' databases by creating & installing fixes with vendors. Update, monitor and complete help desk tickets and projects. Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn't meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated's anonymous Ethics Hotline. KEY RESULT AREAS Other Production Support Process Improvement Other System Implementation Other Backups/Recovery Other DataBase Integrity/Security JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES * Provide production support by the following means: Respond to critical application performance issues of both vendor and internally developed applications by investigating, troubleshooting and resolving such problems by working with the colleagues that support the application; Extract and transform data through the creation of extracts, imports and files; Establish and maintain service level agreements on support databases including agreed upon times for backup, degree of recoverability and database availability. Install and deploy databases; Maintain database environments (install service packs and new database upgrades) to ensure protection against vulnerabilities. * Analyze performance statistics on the databases to provide feedback on database performance. This also includes performance tuning of database at a physical level, through file structure, index rebuilds and hardware modifications as well as at query and index level using tools such as profile, explain/execution plans. * Implement systems by participating in the review of new software platforms and recommend sizing for database hardware and architecture. Other tasks will include research, test and install vendor and internally developed applications, create and run installation scripts to build tables, insert data for new applications and upgrades. Will also create physical data model and work with other ITS staff to build logical model and schemas to ensure compliance with relational database concepts. * Create, manage and test backup plans for the organization databases. This also includes regular testing of these plans and the integrity of the data. * Manage database security by performing user account management and server security management.
