Senior Database Engineer

Location:Dulles, VA (Hybrid Work)

Must have an active Secret Clearance

Node is seeking a Sr. SQL Database Administrator for our work with a federal government agency with different cloud and on-premises expertise to work collaboratively with agile development teams in the design, development, high availability, maintaining, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities. Responsibilities:

* Plan, design, and implement SQL clusters in the different cloud environments.

* Maintain, security is up-to-date, backups, and other normal SQL Instance and database activities.

* Audit and improve our cybersecurity.

* Authorize employees that need access.

* Troubleshoot database issues.

* Plan, design, and implement migrations of SQL Instances from one environment to another.

* Work collaboratively with agile development teams, attending daily scrums and providing data related solutions to team.

* Optimize in-application SQL statements as necessary.

* Develop and maintain database SOPs, and other documentation in the team collaboration environment.

* Analyze and resolve data performance and quality issues.

* Develop a strong understanding of customer baseline capabilities, design and objectives, and applying improvements to systems.

* Maintain current industry knowledge of relevant concepts, practices and procedures.

* Must be able to work in a hybrid environment

Requirements

Required Skills:

* Must be a US Citizen.

* Active Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

* Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.

* 6+ years as a database administrator or in a similar role with a focus on AWS environments

* Must work well in a team environment as well as independently.

* Must exhibit good time management skills, independent decision-making capability; focus on customer service.Required Education:

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is required. [Eight (8) years of experience (for a total of fourteen (14) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.]

* Master’s degree preferred. Desired Certifications:

* AWS Cloud certification such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Cloud certificates.
