Database Administrator

Venatôre, a recognized leader in records management and digitization services for the Department of Defense, is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support Army INSCOM at Fort Belvoir. The successful candidate will possess a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application and will be responsible for creating, organizing, and securing database systems to store critical data such as financial information and customer shipping records. This role is essential for ensuring data availability and integrity for authorized users within Army INSCOM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management:

• Design, develop, and maintain database systems to store and manage various types of data.

• Organize data to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and manipulation.

• Security Implementation:

• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.

• Monitor and audit database access to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

• Data Availability:

• Ensure that databases are available and accessible to authorized users as per operational requirements.

• Implement backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime.

• Performance Optimization:

• Monitor database performance and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to maintain optimal system performance.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and security measures.

• Generate reports on database performance, security, and availability as required.

Qualifications:

• Security Clearance: Must possess a current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Experience: Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Architect.

• BA/BS + 5 years recent specialized experience, AA/AS +7 years recent specialized experience, a major certification+ 9 years recent  specialized experience, or 11 years of recent specialized experience.

• CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in database design, implementation, and management.

• Strong knowledge of database security principles and best practices.

• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

• Analytical Skills:

• Ability to analyze complex data requirements and design appropriate database solutions.

• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve database-related issues.

• Communication Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and convey technical information effectively.

• Teamwork:

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals.

• Information Security (Annual Security Refresher Training - INSCOM)

• DoD Mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Training

• Records Management
