Description: Robert Half Technology is looking for a reliable Database Administrator (DBA) to join our client?s team.
The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and moderate on-site training. He or she should understand the importance of database design, procedural logic and coding practices, and data integrity as it pertains to performance, efficiency and security. The DBA will be responsible for managing multiple database systems that have a 24/7 uptime requirement except for scheduled maintenance and release windows.
The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. RESPONSIBILITIES ? Monitor and maintain system health and security. ? Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user?s specialized role. ? Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems. ? Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner. ? Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data. ? Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. ? Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. ? Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users. ? Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. ? Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. ? Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. ? Proactively identifies and resolves issues; manages deliverables and mitigates risks.
QUALIFICATIONS: ? Minimum 7 years professional experience required, preferably in healthcare operations or systems-oriented environments. ? Experience with Agile development methodologies required. ? Experience with Amazon RDS and MSSQL required. ? Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL strongly preferred. ? Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications. ? Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL. ? Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding. ? Familiarity with programming APIs.
