Position Summary:
We are seeking a dual-skilled professional to join our IT team as a Database Administrator and Power BI Data Analyst. This role involves the function of maintaining and optimizing our numerous databases, as well as creating and managing SQL reports, Power BI reports and dashboards to support data-driven decisions across the organization. This role will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure Operations and will be based in our corporate office in Frisco, Texas.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Database Management
Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of NWH databases.
Perform database tuning, monitoring, and performance optimization to ensure efficient operation.
Implement data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.
Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with established standards and policies.
Optimize and consolidate existing databases to ensure optimal system and storage performance
Manage database access permissions and privileges.
Develop, manage, and test backup and recovery plans.
Data Analysis
Develop and maintain SQL reports that enable end users to access data via Excel and to create dynamic visual reports and dashboards using Power BI.
Translate business needs into technical specifications and design analytical reports.
Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements and opportunities for data-driven decision-making.
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights; make recommendations to optimize business processes.
Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) and monitor data integrity.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field or 5 years equivalent experience.
Highly proficient in SQL with a strong understanding of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity protocols.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, Power Query, SSIS & SSRS, DAX, and data modeling concepts are required.
Experience managing and maintaining a Data Warehouse & Data Cubes
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or Microsoft Power BI certification.
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
Familiarity with additional programming languages and APIs.
Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
