Database Administrator

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Database Administrator to support the Operations & Security of a JFHQ-DODIN Information Environment. Location: Fort Meade, MD.

Tasks include:

• Direct and perform all activities related to maintaining a successful database environment

• Ensure the databases and related applications operate functionally and efficiently

• Install and maintain the performance of database servers

• Develop processes for optimizing database security

• Set and maintain database standards

• Manage database access

• Conduct performance tuning of database systems

• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications

• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors

• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies

• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards

• Create automation for repeating database tasks

• Be available for on-call support as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, Will consider HS+ 12 years of experience.

• Must be able to install, configure, and maintain database management systems according to the project requirements

• Able to perform regular backups of all databases to ensure data integrity and availability

• Able to implement and maintain database security measures, including user access control and encryption

• Able to monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes for improved efficiency

• Able to handle database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss; can troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions

• Requires good communication skills to collaborate with other teams, such as application developers and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration and performance

• Must have experience and knowledge in realm of DOD policies, best practices, and industry standards for database administration

• Current DOD 8140/8570 IAT II certification

• Active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred, not required:

• DOD 8140/8570 IAT III certification

• DOD 8140/8570 IASAE Level II

• Cloud Certification

• Solutions Architect

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
