The Department of Revenue's Information Services division is recruiting for a Database Administrator. This position is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of structured database servers at the Department of Revenue in both production and development environments, providing consultation for the architecture and development of databases, and troubleshooting of escalated issues in a highly complex environment.

The Database Administrator (DBA) works with and must understand and work in the specialties of networking, application development, security and system administration when performing their daily duties.

The DBA at Revenue works with a multitude of database platforms including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Informix, HP Tandem and other proprietary applications.

Duties will include:

  • Database Server Management

  • Database Development and Management

  • Metadata Management

The DBA will also provide expert recommendations and information to business unites, other IT unites, and management on topics related to data management, database administration, and SQL server architecture.A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field to information management with an emphasis in software development from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a foreign equivalent

AND

Seven years of progressive experience in application development, database administration, ETL Processes, and data modeling.

Note

- Additional years of qualifying experience can substitute year for year for the required education.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Three or more years as a database administrator using Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Certification in Microsoft SQL products.

  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.

  • Experience using Microsoft .Net application languages.

  • Experience using the FAST Enterprises GenTax Product.

  • Experience in HP Tandem mainframe environments.
