GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Works with Development, Product Owner, Support and other Database Administrators to review logical and physical data models and to ensure databases meet overall business information requirements and application's functional requirements.

Constructs and maintains databases associated with various application development projects. Monitors and tunes databases in all environments. Provides guidance/training to Development and support staff as needed.

Develops procedures for database security. Establishes and maintains database backup and recovery procedures and trains operations staff as needed.

Provides support for a variety of production databases through participation in on-call responsibilities shared among the DBA staff. This responsibility may require working evening or weekend hours.

Prepares project work plans and project time estimates. Leads some work activities assigned to Database Administration staff and works with designated Business Owners as needed.

Participates in the development and administration of logical, physical and database-specific data standards.

Maintains knowledge of and assists in training others in new technologies related to data management.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong experience with Oracle 11g and 12c including partitioning, compression, RMAN, RAC, Oracle Database cloning in RAC and Non-RAC Environments.

Desired Experience with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016 including database administration, database maintenance, replication, AlwaysOn, performance tuning, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS.

Experience in implementing operation automation using scripts such as Korn shell, Bash, and PowerShell.

Experience in database design methods and techniques, database security methods and procedures, applications development and support, performance tuning including SQL tuning.

Desired experience with VLDB and HA techniques.

Candidate will possess excellent communication (verbal/written), organizational and interpersonal skills.

Manage multiple tasks, be detail oriented, be responsive, and demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking.

Must be able to stay calm under pressure and use a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to change.

Ability to stay current with rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs.
