Job Duties:

CDK Global, LLC seeks a Database Administrator III at our Austin, TX location.

Responsible for backups and restoration of data, data security, data encryption, validation, authorization, and authentication of user access to data, clusters, and servers.

Perform data center migration, including creating new clusters, ensuring data transfer, and resuming work flows. Work with large distributed database systems with focus on performance and tuning. Administer entire data pipeline from raw logs to aggregated metrics per business requirements.

Evaluate and monitor deployments for capacity and performance. Participate in clustering, indexing, performance, and architecture issues. Develop and document best practices for data migration.

Define and implement backup strategies for data retention requirements. Responsible for cluster/data security and encryption.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of related experience. Employer will accept a master's degree plus two (2) years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree plus five years of experience.

Work Experience:

Two (2) years of experience must include: Linux/Windows; Data backups and restores; Database clusters; Monitoring and maintaining database systems; Upgrading and patching software; Big Data concepts; Hadoop; MapReduce; Ambari; Hive; Spark; Oozie; MongoDB Ops Manager; Sharding; and Yarn.

The individual will be responsible for the following: * Support of SQL Server databases both on premise as well as AWS and Azure with emphasis on high availability * Upgrading unsupported versions of SQL to higher versions and trouble shoot any issues. Some of our out dated databases have DTS packages. These will need to be converted to SSIS * Be proactive with maintenance plans and general health of server and databases * Analysis of work required for upgrades or data encryption * Assist our clients with decisions regarding future projects and database paths that best fit the solution * You will work heavily with SSIS ETL processes. Our developers rely heavily on us for this type of support Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years work experience with SQL Server administration Minimum of 5 years work experience with SQL Server reporting Preferred skills: * Strong with data encryption * Database Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring experience * Ability to work independently and demonstrate initative This is a Temporary Employee of NTT DATA role.
