The KBRwyle Software and IT Solutions Sector is looking for a SQL Database Designer/Administrator to join our software development team.

The successful candidate will provide administration and support services including the installation, operation and maintenance, performance monitoring and support, backup and recovery, security management, and insuring the availability of the SQL databases and SQL Server operating system. The primary responsibilities of the candidate include:

  • Install upgrades, service packs, and security updates for SQL Server database environments to protect data from intrusion and maximize system stability.

  • Maximize the uptime of SQL Server databases supporting the Enterprise Production, QA and Test/Dev environments through system monitoring, performance tuning, and routine maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds, file compressions, statistical updates, and database consistency checks.

  • Manage the storage environments for the SQL Server databases, including optimal sizing, monitoring space, requesting additional storage, and providing growth statistics.

  • Create and execute SQL Server backup and recovery policies, and maintain integrity and reliability of access to information.

  • Perform routine backup and recovery testing, including testing and documenting recovery scenarios.

  • Manage database users and security.

  • Work with development teams to assist in overall database design, helping developers tune queries, assigning proper indexes, and aiding developers in the creation of triggers and stored procedures. Import and export data to and from the SQL Server database(s).

  • Create and maintain detailed operating procedures, configuration documentation, and maintenance plans for the SQL Server environment.

  • Responsible for SQL Server database performance monitoring and capacity planning.



A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field with five (5) years of experience. An Additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted for the degree.

Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with a Secret DoD security clearance or higher

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of Transact-SQL programming utilizing scripts and functions for SQL, data manipulation

Knowledge of building stored procedures and various database join types

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Understand Entity-Relationship and coding using ER diagrams



Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Database Administrator 2014 and/or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Microsoft SQL Server 2014, Implementation and Maintenance

Knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, LINQ and jQuery a plus

Experience working in an Agile environment

VIEW JOBS 12/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-22T00:00 United States of America - Maryland, Lexington Park Job Summary AECOM has an opportunity for a highly qualified candidate as a Senior Database Administrator to provide support for the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance – Demonstrator's (BAMS-D) Tactical Auxiliary Ground Support (TAGS) in Lexington Park, Maryland. This is a contingent position. The Senior Database Administrator will develop, upgrade and test the next software release of the Tactical Auxiliary Ground Station's (TAGS) Web suite for the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance – Demonstrator's (BAMS-D) TAGS system. TAGS Web is a secure web portal that allows internal and external customers of TAGS to view, modify, and download mission data, real-time mission tracking, and communication with TAGS operators to facilitate target collection to meet the Navy's requirements. The software development will be required to follow open standards and software development best practices to ensure a standards based product is developed to allow BAMS-D to share data with other systems following open standards for geospatial data set forth by Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). All software development and applications used must be compliant with all applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and guidance resulting in authorization to operate on the SIPRNET. Essential Responsibilities: * Improve the design of the current database structure through capability, efficiency or security enhancements. * Improve the design of the current web user interface (UI) for the TAGS Web. * Improve the design of the overall framework for TAGS Web to allow BAMS-D data to be accessed through a web interface as well as provide interfaces for Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant applications. Access to BAMS-D data is restricted and all access points must be able to be limited to a specific task for a specific user. * Provide an unclassified development and test environment for development software and other applications such as Postgresql, PostGIS, GeoServer, OpenCop, and others as required. * A final Technical Data Package shall be delivered to the Government Project Lead to include; all source code for the UI along with supporting documentation on installation, configuration, and passing data to/from the UI, documentation of the database structure, such as ER-diagrams and index settings, and installation and configuration documentation for all COTS/GOTS software as well as any custom developed software. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements: * Must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, management information systems or related field (or equivalent work experience). * At least five (5) to seven (7) years relevant work-related experience. * Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS) and directory services. * Must be a U.S. citizen. * Must have an active Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: * Skills in writing web user interfaces in modern programming language (e.g. PHP, Python, HTML, XML, KML). * Skills in database creation and management(e.g. MySQL, SQL, Maria DB). * Skills in reviewing/debugging, modifying, document existing code. * Technical writing (e.g. commenting code, creating administrator and user guides). * Secure web testing (e.g. HP's WebInspect).
