Job Summary
Responsible for Oracle Production Support Database Administration of large OLTP and DSS databases providing 7x24 hour support for databases that host multiple IIS web applications
Job Description
We are searching for a hand-on experienced Database Administrator to serve as Oracle Production Support DBA for large OLTP and DSS databases providing 7x24 hour support for databases that host multiple IIS web applications. This position will be full-time and Hybrid with on-site and remote support after hours and scheduled weekends as needed. Normal work hours will be Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.
What You'll Do
Production Support DBA for OLTP and Data Warehouse Production applications
8-10 years of experience with large OLTP and DSS databases
Deploying and supporting all aspects of application release code enhancements
Support Oracle 19c installations on Windows and Unix in a multi-tenant environment
Applying Quarterly Security patches/bug fixes
Creating and working SR requests with Oracle Support
Proactive monitoring of database performance, RMAN/EXPORT Backups, maintenance jobs and reporting using TOAD, OEM13c and/or Foglight tools
Expensive knowledge of Materialized Views refresh options and Oracle Job Scheduler
Troubleshooting and diagnosing IIS application pool connectivity issues surrounding 'inactive and dropped sessions'
Maintain, patch, and rebuild Data Guard - physical standby databases (on-prem and Cloud hybrid)
Disaster recovery installation and support and testing different scenarios; like a Failover or Switchover
Backup Strategies and cloning databases using RMAN "active duplicate" and Multi-tenant "hot cloning"
Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Golden Gate one-way and bi-directional replication environments
Working experience with encrypted wallets
Prior experience of configuring Oracle databases on AWS
Prior experience of configuring Oracle19c databases on Linux
Prior experience of SQL Server 2017 - 2022 and Replication/Failover is a plus
Prior knowledge of Postgres is a plus
Working knowledge of Cognos App/Reporting server is a plus
Working knowledge of KRONOS software installations is a plus
What You'll Need
Required:
Prior hands-on DBA experience with databases that support IIS web applications
Installation, testing and staging Oracle Quarterly security patches on Windows and Linux using Opatch utility
Installation and configuration of SQL Server gateways on Oracle19c
Installation, configuration, and patching Oracle client and ODAC versions
Maintaining and monitoring database storage structures (datafiles, tablespaces, tables, indexes, Mviews)
Monitoring and managing production users and security
Managing database backups, developing, and performing test recoveries
Working experience of all RMAN, configurations, creating jobs and levels of backups and use of Catalog
Working experience of configuring, rebuilding and failover for on-prem and cloud hybrid Physical Standby DataGuard
Working experience of DR strategies; Failover, Switchover to an on-prem or cloud replica
Working experience of Golden Gate Replication configurations, support, and setup
Good understanding of 'Data at Rest' and 'Data in Transit' protocols (including TDE)
Understanding of Centrally Managed Users (CMU) concepts including 'generic wallets'
Proactive database monitoring and performance tuning of; tables, indexes, materialized views, scheduled jobs, packages, procedures, and functions
Experience with monitoring tools; TOAD, OEM13c, Foglight (includes setup, patch maintenance, modifying/adding alerts and reports
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Clear understandable documentation skills
Ability to keep projects on-time and within budget
Ability to interact with other teams and managers
Must be flexible to work nights and weekends with prior knowledge of scheduled work
Must be organized have good communication skills, proactive problem solver, and working knowledge of high availability / failover architectures
Physical Demands

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
