Huntington Ingalls Industries - Technical Solutions Division, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) was recently awarded a multi-year contract supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS) and is pro-actively seeking Database Administrators to work out of their client's field office.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Under general direction, provides highly technical expertise and guidance in the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS)

  • Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods

  • Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products after matching requirements with system capabilities

  • Defines required database administration policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines

  • Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred

  • All levels of experience accepted

  • Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case-specific basis

Security:

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years

  • Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years

  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements

VIEW JOBS 7/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-15T00:00 SUMMARY This administrator will work with the IT team in developing enterprise-class data solutions and implementing our efforts around "best fit data architecture" using one or more database technologies. This includes Transactional DB; MPP databases; and massive distributed non-structured databases, both in terms of engineering the backend solutions and providing operational support. Required to develop DDL and DML scripts for SQL server databases as well as work with a third party data synchronization solution in conjunction with other team members. This role is expected to have strong troubleshooting skills and have a strong understanding of database backup and recovery techniques ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with Workflow engineers, product owners and Subject Matter Experts to understand the data. * Coordinates with Data architects to determine requirements. * Analyzes, designs, creates and implements more complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. * Implement complex physical data models, data dictionaries and schemas. * Liaisons with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. * Reviews systems under development and related documentation. * Coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules. * Investigate source systems to locate and understand existing data. * Create documents and coordinate script deployment with Data Operations. * Coordinate and ensure appropriate reviews per processes defined in Research IT. * Assist in developing data migration strategies. * Must be capable of understanding data strategy on enterprise level but implement on project level and have QUALIFICATIONS * Requires 5+ years of post-BS progressive experience in computer science or related field. * Experience with SQL, SQL tuning and data extraction/modification * Requires at least 3 years deep experience with a variety of database technologies including SQL Server and data stores. * Must have communication skills necessary to successfully interact with, solution architects, product owners, project managers, developers, business analysts and testers.
