Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.

Oracle IT is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator with a strong background in Software Development to work with our innovative products/tools and services. The successful candidate will use their experience to provide Database Administration functions, define, develop and support database administration and operations tools for customers in application and solution architecture for deployment into public clouds for Oracle internal workloads.

As in the new generation cloud paradigm the selected candidate should have an expertise/knowledge/skill in multiple technologies. While the primary function is Database Administration, being a member of this software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided specifications related to Database operations tooling. Furthermore, you will be required to specify, design and implement changes to existing or new software architecture by building highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs, build and execute unit tests and unit plans, review integration and regression test plans. You will also work with other development and operations teams to integrate multiple applications into a cohesive whole system. Scaling applications to large user counts and very large data and resource requirements will be a regular challenge. So, the role requires a deep understanding of Linux server administration, Cloud Networking, Oracle Database and interactions with the Midtier. Experience in Agile development models, modern programming languages, developer pipeline tools (source control, build, test, release) and Devops tools are required. You are also expected to communicate with users as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products. Other duties include researching, proofing, and authoring technical documentation that are beneficial to the company and the team.

  • At least 6-8 years Oracle Database Administration. Programming in SQL, PL/SQL is a must.

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in development using Python/Go/java/ etc., on Unix/Windows OS's

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in UI web markup including HTML5, CSS

  • At least 4-6 years of experience in 2 or 3 web framekworks like Oracle JET, AngularJS, KnockoutJS, ReactJS

  • At least 4-6 years Experience in 2 or 3 frameworks like Spring 3.x, Struts, Hibernate, JPA, JMS, Web Services, REST, GraphQL, Flask, SqlAlchemy

  • Minimum 2-4 years experience of Dockers, Kubernetes (OKE, AKE, EKE, GKE or others), networking protocols, advanced tools and troubleshooting techniques

  • Understanding of serverless functions, service mesh

  • Experience or understanding of machine learning languages like R, Tensorflow and artificial intelligence is a plus

  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, multithreading and multiprocessing

  • Proficient with code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial or Subversion

  • Good understanding of Agile software development principles including using common tools such as JIRA


  • Knowledge and experience in administering Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Data Warehouse

  • Orchestration tools like Terraform, Rundeck, etc.,

  • Working with or supporting production, test, and development environments for medium to large user environments

  • Experience in developing scripts to automate software deployments and installations

  • Experience in a 247 high-availability production environment

  • Effective communication skills via phone and email in English are mandatory. Business Level English Skills

  • Possess and demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectual curiosity and high desire for self-development.

  • Ability to come with best solution by capturing big picture instead of focusing on minor details. Root cause analysis

  • Good customer communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

  • Cloud based development in OCI

  • Linux/Windows operating systems along with virtualization

  • Oracle OVM, VMWare virtualization technologies and exposure to Cloud configuration tools

  • Application servers such as Weblogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Apache
